If you are in Almaty, you should definitely go to Medeu. The journey does not take much time (a taxi takes less than half an hour, and there is also a regular bus service from the city). A chic high-altitude sports cluster with a well-developed infrastructure, with its own stadium, cable car, health ladder, excellent mountain landscapes and walking routes of varying length and complexity, suitable restaurants and toilets also have a place to be. An ice rink was operating here in winter, but in the spring of 2025, reconstruction of the stadium began, hopefully after that it will retain its main recognizable features.
