Beautiful hotel and beach, the most beautiful ocean, picturesque views. Nice rooms. We had a double shower, just perfect. The food is a little bland at times, good champagne, delicious ice cream with coffee. We took an extended package, so we could have lunch and breakfast in a cozy little restaurant with only 15 tables, quiet and peaceful. The ocean is stunning, and it's worth flying to Cuba just for it. The beach is clean, there were no problems with towels. Salsa lessons are given at lunch on the beach. The pools are overheated, just like a bathroom. Mexicans, Cubans and Spaniards are also sitting in them......Russians in this hotel are 5% .
In the evening, there is a good program by the pool - jazz, dancing, a show program in the pool. The most important thing I almost forgot😎 don't miss the sunrise, and preferably not alone, after the rain the sunsets are beautiful 🌈🥰

We were in Cuba for the first time, we recommended the hotel. Very beautiful locations on the territory. Delicious food, helpful staff. We had a rest at the Level (5th floor is charged separately) awesome bar, gorgeous views from the balcony, cleaning every day, drinks delivery/room service. Upon request, we replaced the room with another one with a better view at no extra charge. The photos from the website corresponded to reality. Be sure to take plenty of sunscreen! The sun is very strong.

Pros of the Level: its own reception, the bar is always half-empty, so it's quiet (it's very loud everywhere), interesting Japanese restaurants because of the chef's show (cooking in front of visitors). You don't have to pay extra, but it's really convenient.
The hotel has a great location: a cape that ends up in the ocean. The views from the central bar are very beautiful. There is a gazebo. Especially at sunset, the views are fabulous.
During my vacation, there were no problems with food, drinks, the beach, or cleaning. I'm not an expert on strong drinks, but the Spanish champagne was good.) But there is an element of luck in this in Cuba. During the excursions, people even from more expensive hotels complained about the food and cleaning.
As for the excursions. Mast visit includes Havana, the Caribbean Sea and the old towns of Trinidad and Cienfuengos. On the advice of experienced tourists, I went to the mountains in the jungle for two days, spent the night in a hotel in the mountains, stopped in Trinidad and Cienfuengos. One of the most vivid vacation experiences. Brighter even than Havana. But I liked all the excursions, everything was well organized.
No tips were required. Everything is optional.
I was flying as the daughter of Aeroflot. Since I was afraid of a long flight, I bought seats near the emergency exit. Therefore, the flight was more than normal. We were fed, as usual, only twice.

We stayed at this hotel from March 20 to April 6 for 2 adults and 2 children. I'll say right away- it's better to choose another country for your vacation, if you haven't changed your mind and aren't too lazy to read- OK, I'll write everything in more detail. The hotel itself is not bad by Cuban standards, even one of the best in Cuba, I have often heard that it is the best among the hotels in Cuba, as Russians who have been to other hotels in this country and foreigners said.1. Check-in is fine, they don't speak Russian at the reception, if it's a problem for someone, they offer "dead" rooms, for an additional fee of $ 200 they took 2 renovated rooms with sea views on the 4th floor.2. Poisoning. We took pills with us for everything in the world, as it turned out, they were useful to us. I was poisoned in the snow of a forest where birds fly, maybe the bird ate something or brought dirt on its paws- I don't know, but I sat in the room all day, vomited, etc. The doctor from home prescribed enterofuril to drink a course of 200 mg 4 times a day for 5 days. I drank polysorb, but it didn't help me much. On the first day, in the evening, I was so weak that I lost my speech, and for the next 2 days I just lay at sea, I didn't have the strength to swim.Then the youngest daughter got poisoned somewhere in the middle of the vacation, they initially gave polysorb, mezim- but everything went quickly, in a day. I got poisoned on the penultimate day of my vacation, but this time not very much - I was frozen in the room for half a day. 3. Nutrition. In principle, the food was normal, there was a choice of food. But meat is sometimes made undercooked with blood inside, eggs sometimes smell like vinegar, if the papaya falls to the floor, they will pick it up and put it back, it's useless to tell them. For 16 days, hamon was given 2 times, sushi once, and finely chopped crabs many times. The trouble with fruits and vegetables is that there was often an unripe watermelon, ripe watermelon is available only at the beginning of the restaurant opening. There were pineapples every other time. Papaya and guava have always been there, but not everyone loves them, and the same papaya is not always ripe or old. There were tomatoes and cucumbers every other time. And that's not enough, and that's mostly for the opening of the restaurant. There are no more juices for lunch and dinner. Children are offered coke. We drank beer and tasted wine. 5. A la carte restaurants. An empty pastime. The same dishes are served only. Don't go there. But again, no jambs anywhere. We were recording near the reception desk, there was some woman who spoke more or less Russian. I used to talk to them all the time in broken English and I know a little Spanish, I learned it as a child. Russian Russian is just like that. They signed up for one behind the red bar- 2 people wrote, it's okay. They let us in, and for the first time in our lives we tasted oysters and lobster soup. I finished the oysters, but mine didn't like them. The soup is so-so. Okay. We went to a Japanese restaurant and here... I showed the cards, there are 4 of us, and that woman at the reception wrote 2 people. They launched one family of Blacks, another, and they tell us that you can't fit in. I'm saying it's your mistake, receptionist. Then it all turned into the fact that they tell us to come back tomorrow, and I say that this is a reception error. If I leave now, I'll write a bad review. They were scared. They let me in. The cook comes up and says, I'm for Russia, I love Russians, saying hello, etc. There was sushi and something else with rice and minced meat. And there was fried meat in the form of cutlets. The cook asked who wanted it. I raised my hand. But he gave all the meat to one black family and another. Either roast the meat all at once or don't roast at all. In another a la carte, my legs were bitten by midges on the street, although I sprayed my legs with Gardex. I don't remember what happened in the other a la carte. 6. Maintenance and service in general. The room was poorly cleaned. There was sand on the floor. The bathroom, balcony and room will be cleaned with the same cloth. The towel was changed, and the bed linen seemed to be too. They brought water, asked for more bottles, and they gave it without any problems. They brought my slippers and asked for them. In terms of service in general, they try their best, they do something everywhere around the hotel, fix it, clean it up. But again, this is not Egypt. The elevators don't work, the animals in the room, the squashed cockroach in the hallway.7. Cockroaches and other animals. Were. The number is 4505.4501. By the way, the water is very salty, I would buy swimming goggles. Atopic cream is needed- it can irritate the skin. 10. Swimming pools. I haven't used it, but I've only seen it cleaned once. In Egypt, I saw how it was cleaned every day. 11. Bars. That's where the fun comes in. Birds are flying in the snack bar at the hotel, and everything is not great at the red bar. My wife wanted to order coffee, there is one such thick, white one. She refused to serve her because she was Russian, and she was also making faces distorting our speech (my wife doesn't know languages). We went to the hotel manager, the manager, the boss of this bar and the barmaid apologized. Again, he threatened with a bad review. We extended the room for 2 hours for free at the check-out for this. But I asked-I didn't need their bottle of champagne. No problem, they make all the cocktails, it's fine. Once I saw how tomato juice is made- they pour a little tomato paste, then something green and something blue. And voila- it turns out tomato juice. In principle, everything is fine at the bar. 12. What is the result? I recommend this hotel despite all their shoals. They are trying their best, and the manager has admitted her guilt and apologized. For the "5" this hotel is good: piano, musicians, performances, clowns, evening animation. I didn't want to leave. What you should pay attention to: waiters sometimes beg for tips, but if you don't give them, it's okay. We need pills for everything in the world, we need creams for and against the sun, good sunglasses, sometimes the wind is strong and sand flies into our eyes. We found the root gel and artelak useful at night. You will need hand creams, foot creams, and lip gloss. It dries the skin.Special creams like atopic. We needed suprastin because the child was allergic to the sun. I repeat once again- I had fun at the hotel, there were a lot of foreigners, we talked. But for me, Cuba is for the first and last time. Just giving 900 thousand for a vacation and flying for 15 hours with children and at the same time poisoning yourself with food and receiving service below the Egyptian "4" well, that's it.. We visited the Dominican Republic 3 times, the service was a little worse, but they also paid 300 thousand there.

Due to a strong hurricane and the breakdown of the power plant, the entire island was without power. It's good that the hotels had their own generators and there was light in the rooms. I had to wash in cold water for 4 days until the power plant was repaired. Of course, no one is to blame, but it's not pleasant. The hotel itself is very beautiful, the territory is not small and well maintained. The beach is not the best on the coast. If you walk along the entire coastline, then the beach at Las Americas and Bella Vista is much better. It's just like in a Bounty commercial. White sand, gentle approach and no slabs. It rained for two weeks and the ocean was stormy, but this did not scare the Russian people, they swam anyway😆
The food in the main restaurant is delicious and varied. There was always meat, fish, tuna, chicken, shrimp, squid, crabs. Sometimes there were days of national cuisine (Cuban, Mexican, Japanese). You can sign up for a la carte restaurants. The food is much tastier there, but you need to stand in line at the reception early in the morning.

Then we stopped by on the way to the famous grandfather there, who has hummingbirds in his yard, you can feed them! It was something. You can also take an excursion to Cayo Blanco Island, where iguanas (not aggressive) run, turtles and even huge rodents like capybaras. I'm already silent about crayfish, etc. This tour also includes swimming with dolphins. There is a fenced area in the OPEN ocean where dolphins live. Forget about the greens, cucumbers and tomatoes in general, we haven't seen any greens for ten days! There is no black bread in Cuba, we went from 9.12 to 19.12.2024. With food in Cuba, do not flatter yourself, so that you will not be disappointed later. I'll tell you about the room separately, we changed the room on the first day because they gave it to us on the second floor. The construction of neighboring rooms was underway. I understood from the view of the balcony that there was a garbage dump, a garbage can, and they asked for a $50 surcharge for the ocean view, but we disputed it and did not pay anything. It is always clean and there are enough places for everyone. The ocean is gorgeous, there is a rocky steep section of the coast, you can approach from the water for unique photos! Of the advantages of the latter: its own additional bar, a separate place on the beach, a late separate transfer to the airport.
In each room: air conditioning, safe, TV, tea and coffee group, refrigerator, hair dryer, 1.5 liters of water. I didn't have a bathrobe and slippers in my modern room.
2. Cleaning. Daily with a change of towels. Most importantly, remember: everything that is left on the bed is perceived as a gift, including negligees, etc.
3. Food. The most diverse, including jamon 2 times a day). Of the features: meat and fish are fried in front of you, you have to wait. Cheeses and sausages are served by the girls at your request. The fruits were watermelon, mango, papaya, guava. The ice cream is very tasty. There is a snack bar that is open around the clock. There are 4 a la carte restaurants, you can visit 1 time for up to 14 days, if > 14, then 2 times. The entry at the reception is on the right. Pay attention to the dress code in one of them).

We bought a tour to your hotel, I won't lie when I arrived, the impression was completely different… We judge others by ourselves😏 We were offered rooms that, to put it mildly, did not suit us (noise, dampness, mold, the door sometimes opened without a key, the second room was not quite close, as promised), trying to change ... but alas, as soon as we checked in, all the promises were exhausted!!! The girls at the reception took us to the customer service department, and there a professional manager named Ystvan refused to help, as if he hadn't originally promised to change!!!

We flew across the ocean. We didn't expect much from the kitchen and service. But we were satisfied with everything. They never went hungry: pork, beef, chicken, several types of fish, cheeses, a variety of side dishes, vegetables, herbs ... Fruits disappointed (they were in September) bland, absolutely not sweet. Everything is fine with alcohol in bars-my head has never hurt.
They systematically left tea in the room - there was a good cleaning, swans and hearts of course.
The beach is not bad, but it was washed away sometimes, there are plenty of free sunbeds.

The place is wonderful. The ocean, nature, people - everything is fine. But the local people live very poorly. There are empty counters in shops and pharmacies. Therefore, if you are going to Cuba, do not forget to bring caramel/lollipops for children and medicines (for example, paracetamol) for adults. The hotel is not new. The furniture is old, as many people like to say: "From a dustpan!". And what, is it not "out of the scoop" in Cuba??? But! You must understand where you are going and why! Compared to other Varadero hotels, Melia is very different in terms of conditions!
1) One of the main things is food! Read the reviews for other hotels - vacationers there lost weight during the vacation, because there was nothing to eat! In Melia, there is always food! And good food (meat, cheeses, sausages, etc.)!
2) All the questions that tourists have, the hotel staff solved quickly and friendly! I would especially like to mention Barbara (Russian-speaking curator). Thanks a lot!!!
3) Animation. Every evening, the hotel hosts various entertainment programs! You won't be bored! Therefore, it is not necessary to go to Varadero.
BOTTOM LINE: the food is there, the rooms are clean, even the service is on the level! I posted a lot of videos on my YouTube channel ("Wolverine Fight Club"). We were in Melia (with the whole family and children), in June 2023 and July 2024. And most likely, we will go there next year, and that says a lot))

We had a rest in Melia Varadero in the middle of March. We booked a room with a sea view in advance and were very satisfied. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows, and the sea is visible as soon as you open the door to the room. The beauty is amazing!
I really liked the hotel. Everything is clean. The room has high-quality cleaning and linen change daily. We were quite satisfied with the food. Delicious cheeses, jamon, papaya and sometimes other fruits. Ice cream, desserts are plentiful. Hot snacks are not the most delicious, but you can find something suitable for yourself.
The staff at the hotel is friendly, but at the same time not intrusive. Rest comfortably.
The beach is wide, sandy, the entrance to the water is gentle. Special shoes are not needed. The water is clean, it is already warm in March. There are plenty of sun beds. It will not be difficult to find a place even under the sun, even in the shade. Beach towels are provided.
The hotel hosts some themed entertainment events every day. You can listen to music, learn how to dance salsa. Once a week, the hotel pampers its guests by hosting Cuba Day. Lunch is served outdoors, the entire hotel area is decorated with bright flags, artists, dancers and even retro cars. It's a lot of fun, emotional and incredibly beautiful, because it's all under palm trees on the ocean!
There is Internet in the hotel and even in places on the territory, but it is very weak, and the signal is constantly lost. This is probably the only disadvantage of the hotel. For serious work, it is better to purchase a local SIM card. And an undeniable plus is the opportunity to pay for your stay with a Mir card.

The hotel is on a good level .Check-in takes place in Cuba at 16:00 , but settled around 10:30 immediately upon arrival with an additional fee - ocean view .Russian-speaking administrators are always nice and "+" to the service. We stayed at this hotel from August 21 to September 4.
Pros: Well-groomed territory, many bars and restaurants, friendly staff, will help with any problem. The buffet was good (by Cuban standards), there was everything, meat, fish,fruits, ice cream, cakes, rolls, sausages, cheeses and much more. Everything is fine.
Cons: dirty dishes, poorly washed plates, mugs were often found...

After reading negative reviews about hotels in Cuba, I chose the hotel very carefully. We chose Melia Varadero 5*. And you didn't lose it, the hotel is super!! If you do not specifically look for disadvantages and do not walk with a sour face, then there are none! ❤️🔥
Gorgeous clean beach, warm ocean, great sunset. The territory of the hotel is well maintained and large. Very beautiful views, sunset.
2 swimming pools, one of which is for children, shallow. The water is warm. There are many sun beds. Towels are provided for the beach.
Every day there is animation in the evenings and in the afternoon on the beach and around the pool.
The food is varied, we had enough of everything. Shrimp, chicken, various meats, ham, sausages, cheeses, eggs. The fruits were papaya and guava daily, rarely bananas. There was ice cream every day. Drinks and rum just flow like a river. Pina colada is very tasty.
Room service was daily, clean, towels are changed daily. Upon arrival, a set (shampoo, gel, soap) is given. Our iron was broken, and it was quickly replaced upon request.
Russian Russian-speaking staff is available, in general, many Cubans understand and speak Russian.
There are several A la Carte restaurants. I must say right away, I was not impressed!! We were in Japanese and Mexican. It's not tasty. After them, we went to the hotel restaurant, we wanted a normal delicious meal :) 😀
We took from the excursions: Havana, sailed catamarans to Cayo Coco Island + swam with dolphins, Discovery Tour. Dolphins impressed the most. ❤
No cockroaches were noticed, the dishes in the restaurant were washed clean 🔥🔥❗️
There was a shopping center next to our hotel, there is a pharmacy and clothes :) Also, there were stalls nearby where you can buy inexpensive souvenirs (leather goods, cigars, figurines, etc.). ❤️🔥
We didn't need Pessos anywhere, we only need dollars and euros. All excursions are in euros!
In Havana, you can ride a convertible, bargain, we bargained for $ 25 for 4x). There are also convertibles on Varadero, from the hotel you can take them to the center of Varadero.
