On April 2025, our class visited the Ale Memorial Complex. It was a very significant and touching event. We learned a lot about the heroes whose memory is immortalized in this place, and felt the importance of preserving historical memory.
The atmosphere of the complex made a special impression — it helped to really reflect on the events of the past and feel respect for those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the future. The guide told interesting and heartfelt stories, thanks to which we better understood the significance of these monuments and memorial plaques.
This visit left a deep impression on my soul. We are grateful for the opportunity to visit a place where history comes to life and reminds of eternal values — peace, courage and memory.

Ola Memorial Complex
The complex was built in the Gomel region in 2020 on the site of the burned village of Ola
There were only 34 houses in this settlement, the village was in a remote forest, and on that fateful day, more than 1,700 refugees fleeing the war were looking for salvation here.
On the morning of January 14, 1944, a punitive detachment surrounded the village. Residents were herded into houses, which were then set on fire. All those who resisted were shot . In total, 100 men, 508 women and 950 children were killed, which is 12 times more people than in the well-known Khatyn.
Few people managed to escape…

07/16/2024 visited the complex! Very heavy atmosphere, nothing superfluous, but very informative... The air is filled with grief and tears... Belarusians are great fellows, they definitely have a "memory"!
