The monastery is impressive, which can't be said about the saleswoman who stands below near the parking lot, with a creepy smile, a scary face and long black hair, what we didn't buy from her staged a circus, responded, cursed, insulted, wanted all the bad things in the world, stay away from her

Sayat Nova's childhood from S. Parajanov's film "The Color of Pomegranate" was filmed in this monastery. Sayat Nova's mother was from Sanahin.

We were there in April 2021, when a famous Armenian singer shot a music video there. I admit, I was more impressed by the crew of cute guys. But the place is beautiful, worth your attention.
