We swept through the halls of the seminary very quickly.. As part of the island tour, our guide had connections and took us by electric car to the very top of the island, one of the hills called Nadezhda, on which the seminary building is located.. on the site of the monastery of the Holy Trinity. The seminary has been closed for a long time. In 1971, it was closed by the Turkish authorities. It is noteworthy that many famous theologians and patriarchs who later became members of the Ecumenical Patriarchate studied here. The classrooms looked pretty authentic. The classical academicism of that time has been preserved here: heavy wooden desks, slates.. I have a very pleasant impression of the place, if you can even say that about places of religious significance. I saw the black Madonna on the icon for the first time there, and also bought a Cross.. which, by the way, is made of low-quality material and cracked quickly.. But the lace is perfect)
