We accidentally stopped by this location... First, we walked around the courtyard. Clean and tidy. Then we were escorted to a small temple (pictured 4). Very cozy, homely or something. A special atmosphere was added by an old woman reading a book in a needle, sitting comfortably in an armchair. When asked to inspect the main temple, a short man came out to us. We were led to the main temple. It is very beautiful, clean and majestic. Realizing that it was started to be built in 1710, and after a walk through the hills of Jurovichi, you realize the fact that it is right at the center of the universe for that time. The man turned out to be a historian. He spoke very interestingly about modern monasticism, its existence in modern times, and conducted a short tour of the history of this place... I remember his phrase that in the past, meeting a person who could change your life played a big role. The man carried knowledge and faith. There are currently 3 monks in the monastery. There are catacombs. We didn't see that. If suddenly the main temple is closed, then go to the small one (landmark porch with bells in photo 4). They will definitely open the doors for you (knock and they will open for you)

The monastery's history is bizarre. According to legend, in the 17th century, the Catholic missionary Martin Torovsky, who was traveling with the icon of the Virgin Mary, had horses rooted to the spot in this place and the amazed priest heard the command of the Mother of God to leave her image here to strengthen Christianity. Which, in general, was fulfilled. The icon is crowned, which symbolizes special veneration and recognition of its miraculous power. Now the third list of the shrine is preserved here, miraculously preserved, not newly made. The icon is revered by both Catholics and Orthodox, so it is believed that grace has descended on this list.As fate would have it, the original is located in St. Barbara's Church in Krakow.

The main building of the church was built between 1717 and 1757, consecrated in honor of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. A school was opened in 1756, and the Jesuit college was founded in 1778. In 1820, the church and the collegium were transferred to the Catholic Order of the Bernardines. The monks supported the uprising of 1830-1831, for which the monastery and the church were temporarily closed, but in 1840 they resumed work again. After the uprising of 1863-1864, the church was finally closed. In 1865, the last Jurovichi priest Hugo Godzetsky, anticipating the imminent closure of the monastery by the Russian authorities, decided to preserve the icon for posterity. At his request, an artist from the village of Derechin, Jadwiga Kenevich, painted an exact copy of the icon, and the priest replaced the original with it. A local landowner, Gabriella Horvat, took the miraculous icon to Krakow and deposited it in St. Barbara's Church on the condition that "the icon will be returned to the renovated, restored Jurovichi church someday..." In 1865, the church was consecrated in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the complex itself became an Orthodox women's monastery. In the spring of 1930, the monastery was closed. In 1950, the buildings of the former collegium were transferred to the orphanage for further conversion into residential premises. On September 18, 2005, it was transformed from the Holy Nativity of the Theotokos Convent to the Holy Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery for Men.
