Words cannot describe with what feelings we approached these memorial slabs, and in complete silence. The remains of 1,038 people who died during the defense of the fortress in June–July 1941 are buried under these slabs. Of these, only 276 soldiers are known and given their names, while the rest are buried as unknown. Eternal memory to the heroes and their families.
