One of the oldest cities in Belarus, the official date is 1135, with a rich history. For such a small town, with less than 10,000 inhabitants, so many beautiful churches, and two preserved but not restored churches, you definitely won't be able to keep up in one day. And on the border with Russia, 8 km from Mstislavl, the Holy Dormition Monastery is a must-visit. It can be combined with a trip to the knight's fest, held annually. It's not a bad hotel for a regional center with recently renovated rooms. It's not a bad pizzeria, it's not the capital, but you won't be hungry. One disadvantage that needs to be endured is that the 107 km of road from Mogilev is not a frontline road, of course, but it is also far from an autobahn.

Among the advantages: a large bright room with good repair and furniture and with its own shower and toilet. Of the cons: there is no cleaning, there is no kettle in the room or at least a cooler in the corridor so that you can make tea or coffee, the socket for the TV in the wall was kept on my word of honor, so they did not dare to turn on the TV, the water from the toilet tank was almost always rusty.
