A cool, albeit underrated museum. Usually, a ticket to the Doge's Palace includes a visit to the Correr Museum. But not everyone uses it. There are beautiful interiors, maps, works of art, and beautiful views of St. Mark's Square. There is also a cafe where you can go even if you do not go to the museum. Not everyone uses this either. The cool thing is that when you visit the Correr, you will find yourself in the luxurious hall of the Marcian Library. It was built by one of the most famous Renaissance architects, Jacopo Sansovino. By the way, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky once stole a book from the collection of this library. There are specific historical data and documents about this. You can read about this in the book "Russians in Venice". Tintoretto's paintings are in large numbers in the same Marciana room. So find the strength to come here after the Doge's Palace with this ticket!

Wandering around Venice in admiration (and for some reason-humming melodies from the movie "Trufaldino from Bergamo"), I visited St. Mark's Square and the building of the Newest Prosecutor's Offices (the Napoleonic Wing) on the square at its far western end, opposite the Cathedral of the same name (between the buildings of the Old and New Prosecutor's Offices). He criminally fed pigeons in front of the building (now, they say, it is strictly forbidden). The building was built during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte I and Viceroy Eugene Beauharnais on the site of the church of San Geminiano. The Napoleonic wing, with its double monumental facade and portico, was designed by architects Giovanni Antonio Antolini, Giuseppe Soli and Lorenzo Santi. The interior was designed by the Venetian artist Giuseppe Borsato. It is now home to the Museo Civico Correr Museum of History and Art, founded in 1830 and named after the founder and Venetian philanthropist Abbot Teodoro Francesco Maria Gasparo Correr. The museum was founded by his personal collection of art objects and now contains a huge number of historical artifacts, statues, paintings, weapons and other art objects. To my taste, I would single out the statues of the 18th-19th century Venetian sculptor Antonio Canova displayed here, and from the paintings, "Pietu" with three angels by the 15th-century Sicilian artist Antonello da Messina. In general, it is very beautiful, like everything else in Venice.. Interestingly, the museum has a pistol of the Venetian Admiral Francesco Morosini in the form of a prayer book.
