A very interesting, impressive place!
Here you can visit the museum dedicated to the fortifications, history and everyday life of the Brest-Litovsk fortress.
I highly recommend visiting the museum with an excursion, because in addition to a detailed story about the museum itself, you can see the territory of the fort, powerful caponiers and other fortifications, visit underground galleries and casemates, as well as learn a lot!

We were on an excursion with 4th grade children on April 24. Both teachers and students really enjoyed the tour. An impressive place! I would like to mention the work of the guide. I really liked how accessible and fascinating the guide Zakhar was. He is very attentive and engages children to listen and remember, which is very difficult but important. Therefore, the tour, the place was very impressive, I definitely recommend visiting it and it is better to have a good guide.

We visited Brest quite often, we visited the Brest Fortress several times, but this was the first time we visited the 5th Fort Museum. An impressive place! The museum exhibit is not very large, but it is informative. We didn't take the tour, I can't appreciate it. A walk through the catacombs is fascinating, sometimes creepy, especially when you are not in a group, but wandering there alone. My sixteen-year-old daughter liked it too. Next time we visit this complex, we will take a guided tour) Definitely recommend you to visit!

A well-preserved monument of fortifications of the past centuries. It was very interesting to visit only with a competent guide, it was very interesting to hear how it was built and what functions it performed. Dmitry's guide's contacts can be found on YouTube, the Road to the Movie channel, and the Brest Fortress video. You won't regret it!!!

The 5th Fort Museum is an amazing place that leaves a strong impression. The building itself looks like a real historical artifact, and the opportunity to explore it literally from top to bottom is a real pleasure. At the beginning of the tour, you will be greeted by a small museum, which tells about the history of the fort, its construction, everyday life and similar structures in Belarus, Russia and nearby European countries.
After the museum, you can freely walk through the tunnels and rooms, as well as go to the surface and explore the surroundings. We were lucky enough to visit the fort at the end of August, the day before the reenactment event, which allowed us to communicate with the reenactors. Their presence added to the entourage and helped to better understand how everything was arranged here in the past.
Personally, I liked the 5th Fort even more than the Brest Fortress, due to its atmosphere and interactivity. However, it is worth considering that the location may present some difficulties for those who use taxis, and the owners of the Life operator may have problems with mobile communication. In addition, I would not recommend combining a visit to the 5th fort with the Brest Fortress in one day, as there may not be enough time to carefully explore all corners and enjoy the atmosphere of both locations. But a visit to the 5th Fort is definitely worth including in your plan if you are interested in history and architecture.

A great museum, a lot of underground barracks. There is a place for children to exercise their energy. We came after the main complex of the Brest Fortress, where there are not many places where they are allowed in the casemates. And here there is plenty of space. Together with the main museum of the fortress, it is a single, integral painting.

It's a good museum, small but informative. Everything else is a catacomb that you can walk through. It's pretty cool inside, although it was warm outside. I can't imagine what it's like there in winter. There is nature, silence, and beauty all around. I am very glad that I visited, because the place is really interesting.

When we arrived in Belarus, we didn't even know about the existence of this place, we arrived at the opening, there were few visitors, it was a very quiet place, the very structure of the 5th fort was impressive, the thickness of the walls, how metal rail blinds, ventilation system, etc. were invented. you can't help but wonder how 150 years ago people built and built for centuries. 5 The fort has been recently renovated, we recommend everyone to go and be sure to take a tour, as little is clear when viewing it freely.

Fort number 5 is the dream of filmmakers and boys under the age of 12. Virtually untouched by aging and wars with underground galleries available for inspection - what else do you need to spend an hour or two almost in touch with history? And be sure to chat with the local curators of the museum. They will tell you a lot of things that are not written in the guides and comments to the exhibits.

It is better to walk around the fort itself with a guide who will tell you the history of its construction, the purpose of the premises and help you not get lost in the galleries. There is a small museum at the fort with information stands and objects found during the restoration work carried out in the fort.

A powerful structure. Almost all the galleries are open. It is not inferior in scale to the forts of Konigsberg, but the impression is that it has been preserved better. The architecture is very similar. We didn't go on the tour - we got tired after the Brest Fortress proper. It's very impressive, but I think history lovers need to take a guided tour. The latrine of the beginning of the XX century has been preserved))) Unfortunately, it is not functioning.
I can advise you to clear the rampart of the fort - there is a jungle there, it is not clear where the rampart is, where the moat is, where the caponier is for flanking fire. You will be much clearer. I recommend you to visit!

There is a lighted part, and there is darkness. The darkness of the tunnels in all its blackness.
If you walk alone, sticking together, the main thing is not to suddenly cough or sneeze ...
A perfectly preserved, well-maintained fort, where every corner and nook is interesting, especially for young researchers. Fantasies outstrip what they see, sensations capture, take them into the past...
The excitement of going everywhere, having made a plan of structures in your head, without first examining the map, drives you further and further... and at some point, going out through the gap to the outside and checking the navigation, you suddenly realize: the border is 300 meters...

If you are in Brest, be sure to visit this place. It is very grandiose. The story is in it at every step. The fortress has survived 2 world wars. It included the Tsarist, German, and Soviet armies. There is something left of each of them. I was on an excursion with a group of ~20 people. The guide told and showed everything. It's immediately obvious that he loves his job. I recommend taking warm clothes with you because the building is very cold and damp in places, even in warm weather, but this gives this place an incomparable atmosphere.

The most interesting thing is to climb the tunnels. The trouble is that there is not light everywhere, the floor is in holes, metal pins stick out, that is, it is really dangerous. We walked around with a phone flashlight. The museum's exposition is very small. We were in the summer, but in winter it's better not to go there. The location is inconvenient. We took a taxi there, we had to walk back (!!!) It was hot to get to the city, since no one, of course, agreed to follow us there.

Historical background:
Fort No. 5 is a unique monument of Russian fortification art of the late XIX — early XX centuries. The fort was one of the defensive facilities of the Brest-Litovsk fortress of the second line. It was built in the 1880s. It is located 3 km south of the Brest Fortress. In 1995, Fort No. 5 was included in the list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus of the 2nd category. In 1999, the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex was transferred to the balance of the State Institution. On May 8, 2000, the grand opening of the branch of the memorial complex "Fort No. 5" took place. It is planned to create a museum of the history of fortification and armament in the fort

An interesting exposition, an interesting place, and preservation is rare for such structures in Belarus. Of the minuses, in some places the condition of the structures is so-so, the stone was stolen from the floors at the time, it is quite easy to restore it. Fort 5 was a must for us to visit, last year we did not get to Fort 11 in Kaliningrad and therefore in Brest, especially considering that it was opened as a museum in this format only in 2021, it was important for us to see it.The fort is not in the most touristic place, so you need to get there and back by taxi, since there are no problems with taxis. There were 6 of us and we took an excursion, the excursion costs 60 rubles and plus a ticket for each, it seems 10 rubles, the excursion takes 1-1.5 hours both inside the fort and outside.I definitely recommend taking the tour, because on my own, I am not an expert in defensive structures, it is difficult to understand what and why, and after the tour, at least I had an idea what a fort is and how this system worked and why.In my opinion, to broaden your horizons and in terms of familiarization, the tour is suitable for everyone, regardless of gender and age, because there is something to listen to, watch, climb and take pictures, who needs what.We were on Sunday morning, there were practically no people except us, 1-2 more people, the whole fort is right ours, cool.I recommend
