Level 7 Local Expert

An excellent, modern museum in the center of Sukhum. The perfect place to travel 2,500 years in one hour. The entire history of Abkhazia, from Ancient Colchis to the present day, is represented through banknotes. Very informative. We saw the coins of Byzantium, the Ottoman Empire, Genoa and, of course, the complete collection of Abkhazian apsars. The interactive experience is particularly exciting: you can mint a coin yourself on an antique machine! I recommend it to everyone.

Level 15 Local Expert

This is the only place in the country where the 2,500-year history of money circulating on this earth is presented in detail. It is especially valuable that here you can see the complete collection of our national commemorative apsara coins, from the very first issues of 2008 to the modern ones. The museum is actively developing, regularly holds thematic exhibitions, lectures and meetings of the collectors club, which makes it a real cultural center.

Excellent shop of Abkhazian coins at the entrance. Pleasant, polite and considerate service. The museum's exposition itself is not at all large in area, but it is well done, with a soul and it presents the history of modern money and the ancient past. I recommend.
