An unusual museum inside the Great Pityunt fortification. The museum building itself is modest in size, but what a story! The museum's collection mainly presents us with objects of everyday life, fishing and culture of antiquity. I saw pottery shards, amphorae and other utensils, fishing gear, parts of marble columns, and a sarcophagus. I would like to pay special attention to the ancient mosaics, which (what?!) they were taken away from the museum during the conflict of the 1990s. It reminded me a little of the story of the museum in the Vyborg fortress, when during the Great Patriotic War absolutely all exhibits and valuable objects were taken away not only from the museum, but also from all over the city. Nevertheless, some mosaics were preserved, but it took me a moment to realize that it was a mosaic: from a distance it looked like something made of sand. I'm not a restoration guru, but can these mosaics look a little better? I had to look closely, it's interesting. I would like to see an approximate color picture next to the exhibit, as it looked at the time of Odysseus and Cicero. The museum is healthy, it allows your imagination to run wild. I also liked that none of the museum's keepers followed us, which is very rare and allows us to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of ancient times.

Let's just say it's a very small museum with a very modest exposition. But as a sightseeing tour before visiting the Cathedral with an organ concert, it generally creates a positive mood. 1,500rubles per person for a museum tour and concert at the time of the review. It is better to visit in the evening or when it is cool. I recommend.

An interesting museum. Everything is steeped in antiquity. Even without a guide, everything is clear - there is a large exposition of ancient artifacts. There is a cathedral with an organ. We got to an international festival! It's very beautiful and interesting. Entrance is paid. Souvenirs can be bought on site. There is a toilet.
