A compact museum. The three floors are mostly photos with text. A strong impression is the hall dedicated to Mr. Orange. Everything is dubbed into English, but you can take an audio guide in Russian. The entire territory (not very large) in front of the museum is filled with American downed/captured vehicles. You can climb and take pictures everywhere. A small installation dedicated to how the French helped the Vietnamese build democracy before the Americans is worth a look. Payment for tickets is in cash only. Rather for connoisseurs, 4 stars is a stretch.

For a three. The exposition is very one-sided. Not a word about who helped the Vietnamese in that war. The topic of what they were actually fighting for was somehow technically bypassed. The course of the war is not described. Yes, there are interesting American trophies, but no history is shown behind them: where was the Chinook captured, say, in what battles did it participate? They didn't say a word about the Vietnamese patriots themselves either - no weapons, no photos, nothing really. At the same time, for some reason, they added the period of French colonization - they made a model of a prison in which patriots were tortured. What's the point of why...

The museum, in fact, consists of 3 expositions: 1) the US military equipment park; 2) the central building, in which all 3 floors are filled exclusively with photographs, plus several samples of weapons and ammunition; 3) reconstruction of the prison. Given that there are not many attractions in Ho Chi Minh City, it is advisable to visit this museum, just do not expect too much from it. Photos - yes, creepy, many will feel pity and disgust. But exactly the same (and much scarier) photos are in any atlas of mine-blast wounds. The park of military equipment is quite sparse (in comparison, for example, with the tank museum in Kubinka), but it allows you to see American military equipment, including the famous Chinook cargo helicopter. The reconstruction of the prison is not exciting - 2 rooms, a staircase and a cell with a mock-up of a prisoner. If there is an interest in the war with the United States, then an excursion to the Ku Chi tunnels is much more exciting

It's a morally difficult place, and before visiting, it's better to read about what the exhibition is about and what you'll be exploring.

It's very difficult to be in a museum, it's too terrible a war. I removed one star only because our museums in Russia are generally better.
