The observation deck is located on the territory of the complex of the male Simon-Cananite monastery, the condition of which causes sadness, bewilderment and annoyance. Despite the fact that numerous tourists leave donations for the restoration of the complex, repairs have not been carried out for decades. Unfortunately, since 2011, the New Athos monastery has been in the hands of individuals who have dissolved their unity with the Russian Orthodox Church. The Russian Orthodox Church does NOT bless Orthodox pilgrims to buy candles, souvenirs, and participate in the sacraments in order not to support schismatics. The observation deck offers beautiful panoramic views of the city, mountains and the sea.
