We visited Okatse Canyon with friends, and we have a variety of impressions. This is a great place for hiking and extreme sports enthusiasts. It didn't seem particularly scary or dangerous to us, but the nature here is really amazingly beautiful. In order to get to the observation deck, you need to walk about one and a half kilometers from the entrance, including stairs and steep trails. The view from the height is impressive, really breathtaking in its beauty.

One of the iconic refined and advertised canyons of Georgia.
Included in all guidebooks)))).
The entrance is along steep serpentines. The road is good. New asphalt.
The landmark of the office is a large parking lot on the right and a lot of Japanese minibuses with increased traffic .
Parking is free.
There are ticket offices in the concrete-glass building. We pay here. Entrance is 17.5 lari .Accept cash and cards. There is a toilet.
By the entrance to the canyon (below), they only check tickets. Perhaps there is also a payment by bank cards. They didn't check it. And I don't advise it. It's better to pay here at the top. Otherwise, you will go back and forth an extra 5 km.
We pass through the glass doors into the park and walk along the equipped path. Signs and benches are present . The presence of the latter will be appreciated upon return. Walk to the canyon about 2.5 km for about an hour. The last section with fairly steep slopes. Steps, railings, fences, benches.
From the ticket offices to the canyon, you can drive with obsessive taxi drivers in the Japanese car industry. I didn't like the price)). They asked for 100lari. Probably for the car. They did not specify because they immediately tuned in to the pedestrian.
Perhaps you can also use your own cross-country car. The beginning of the car descent to the right of the parking lot.
At the beginning of the canyon (below) there is an office booth, parking, a free toilet. There you can wash and get water.
The tickets are checked with a scanner and launched onto a metal staircase. You may not be able to buy tickets here! We'll have to go back to the upper office. It is physically expensive)))). And a waste of time.
The length of the canyon is approximately 700-800m. A lot of ladders, multi-level passages, observation decks. The highlight is the hanging platform.
For impressionable people - an excellent attraction. There is no infrastructure other than security.
There is a cafe at the exit of the canyon. Further along the flat area to the lower office and then past the toilet up the familiar path we go to the upper parking lot.
The hike is quite physically expensive. Especially the approaches to the canyon. The presence of benches helps a lot. Evaluate your strength correctly. Choose shoes. There are a lot of people walking up and down on the trail.
An interesting object. I recommend.

The place is very beautiful, but the question is about the organization of this place... Why does a good road go only to the place where you buy an entrance ticket to this canyon, and you still have to walk to it in the heat, if it's summer, 40 minutes. Or are you offered a ride by local reckless drivers for GEL 80 in 5 minutes. There and back. It turns out that the cost of this place increases significantly!
