They helped us make this evening very enjoyable! They helped us with the choice of dishes and we were not disappointed, having listened to the recommendations. The food is a gastronomic delight! The hodgepodge is very tasty, and borscht is generally a separate art form, and the serving and taste were great. But the main discovery for us was the draniki in pots with homemade sausage and mushrooms, we were delighted. We ate a lot, but it was impossible to stop. I would also like to say about the interior. The establishment has several halls and they all have different themes. We especially liked the "wedding in Malinovka" hall. In general, they left with the intention of coming back again!

The first lunch and dinner was held in the company of the heroes of the film "White Sun of the Desert". And the second time, I did not miss the opportunity to have a glass of cranberry tincture with Gleb Zheglov, in the hall with the theme of the film "The meeting place cannot be changed."I tasted the hodgepodge, the taste of which brought back pleasant memories to me.Branded tableware deserves to be celebrated. Serving tea and desserts is a very pleasant addition to a delicious lunch. Chrysanthemum, good wishes... Very nice! And, of course, I can't help but mention the work of the waiters. They are pleasant in communication, efficient, kind.Well done!(Special thanks for the mustard and horseradish for my sausages, at my request. I recommend including them in the menu). Once again, I would like to mention the most interesting menu of this restaurant. In Gomel, at the corner of Sovetskaya and Syalyanskaya streets, there was a sign "Old Time Cafe - 50 steps", the tester checked - and it's true, exactly 50. I was encouraged, we stopped for lunch. There were empty seats in the first hall, which is decorated according to the movie "The meeting place cannot be changed," and there are several more halls there. The service was light, but the polite waiter tried to make up for his mistakes. The menu is designed perfectly and enticingly. The food is served beautifully. The only thing that wasn't great was the taste of the dishes -not bad or good, nothing more. Borscht, pancakes, fritters, firewood, sausages with potatoes, coffee, tea - I didn't find anything in this set for which I would come here again, because during the week in Gomel I had already tried more delicious options. But style is where you can look for equals, for the sake of this (and the hope that other dishes will turn out to be tastier), you can come again.

We visited this cafe today, November 26, 2025. The interior is cool. There is nothing else from the advantages. The kitchen is just disgusting. The elementary borscht, which I thought only a careless hostess could spoil, is just terrible. They're magicians, they're fat, and they don't taste good. Herring is in Estonian...It's a beautiful name, but I fell for it...as a result, the usual sliced herring and a small plate of sour cream with it. They also took tinctures and beer. I can't say anything about the advantages here...there are only disadvantages. Beer is not tasty, as if diluted with water, tinctures are just moonshine, which is mixed with different dyes, the taste is almost the same. Well, in the end, a small plus...A washcloth. It was 3 pieces of pancakes with gravy. But this dish was the most delicious of all that was brought to us. And, like the icing on the cake, it's the service. Everything was quick, but with such displeasure, as if she had done us a favor by bringing us the order. I do not recommend using the word at all!!!! The reviews seem to be hyped. The cafe is clearly not worth 5!!!

Lunch was organized in this cafe for our tour group, by the appointed hour the tables were served and since we were limited in time, the waiter girls served us very quickly. I was also surprised by the indifferent, dismissive behavior of the hostesses. She smiled tightly, led us to the table so quickly that we lost her in the maze of corridors. When we left, she stood hanging on the bar, looked at us lazily, and did not even say goodbye or ask if we were satisfied with the service. Yes, perhaps these are small things, but the Hostess is the face of the restaurant, her duties include meeting guests, escorting them to a table, and then saying goodbye to them. And the girl obviously couldn't cope with this simple task. Which is somewhat strange, given the popularity of this restaurant in Gomel. Therefore, four stars out of five. There is also a wish for the management of the restaurant to hang TVs in the halls where themed films The White Sun of the Desert would be broadcast, the meeting place cannot be changed, football in the football hall, and in the village-style hall it would be possible to film the Wedding in Malinovka. We were at this place on 05.09. The entourage is interesting, the extensive menu, several halls with different themes. When serving dishes, there are special features - when serving cappuccino, they brought a chrysanthemum in a glass on a tray. But the kitchen itself was disappointing. Pancakes with poppy seed filling are very greasy, with chapped, dry, hard edges. Kvass is not delicious, a milkshake is more like yogurt with cream on top. Fish and chicken are dried, for some reason balsamic vinegar is added to many dishes for decoration, which spoils the taste of the dish.

The dishes are bland, withered and not fresh herbs. The service is weak. Replacement plates were not served on time and used napkins were not removed. We wanted to buy some water at the bar separately, but we didn't. It turns out that all this has to be done through a waiter. There is practically no dance floor. It's not very pleasant to dance when everyone passes through you to the street and then back. Will I go there again? I don't think so. Would I recommend it to my friends?
