The most magical impression was left by a walk at night — hundreds of fireflies shone along the shores, it looked fabulous. The next day, January 3, we went to the main pearl of the region, the Angkor Wat temple complex, the capital of the ancient Khmer Empire. The majestic temple ensemble impresses with its scale and architectural beauty. Built in the 12th century, Angkor Wat symbolizes the power and grandeur of the ancient state. The stone walls, decorated with bas-reliefs depicting scenes from Hindu mythology, are amazing. The complex consists of many temples, each of which has its own unique architecture and history. In the center of the complex stands the main temple, the symbolic center of the universe dedicated to the god Vishnu. Angkor Wat is surrounded by dense jungle, adding to the mystery of this place. Exploring this ancient city, you can feel the breath of history, imagining how many centuries ago life was in full swing here, ceremonies and celebrations took place.
