It is located at the entrance to the Mother See Church. The building was erected in 2001 in honor of the 1700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion in Armenia. The upper part of the altar depicts St. Gregory the Illuminator and Tsar Trdat III the Great. A spacious platform has been set up in front of the altar so that many believers can participate in the spiritual rites at the same time. The Most Holy Myrrh is consecrated in the Open Altar, the rite of the consecration of the fruits of grapes, the rite of the consecration of pomegranate fruits and other sacred rites are performed.
