Unfortunately, many photos have not been preserved, as they were a long time ago, but I will make up for it with an interesting text.
This place is worth a visit in order to lose the rose-colored glasses and the romanticism of death and cremation.
Cremations of the dead take place in this temple, in the river, which is clearly visible in the photo, all the remains of this procedure are thrown off, the color of the river reflects the moral state of staying in this place.
Further down the river, there are locals who are trying to find valuables after cremation, then the river flows through the city, where they bathe and wash household items.
We got into several stages of cremation at once.
When the body was burning, it was clearly visible how the upper integuments were burning, the skin was melting, while there was a persistent burnt smell of burning skin in the air, it was impossible to breathe there without a mask, although the locals easily did it, they probably got used to it.
Next, we saw the preparation of the body for cremation, wrapped in bright fabrics, decorated with flowers, etc.
And in the end, like the cherry on the cake, we saw how the remains (burnt bones) were thrown into the river.
In general, the conclusion is this, if you want to rethink something in life, to understand that the body is temporary and not valuable, because when you see empty lifeless bodies there, you realize that there is nothing in them, then it's great.
