Pessinus Ancient City, the village of Ballıhisar was founded today on the ancient city on the Old King's Road. Outside the city, you can see the ruins of the old city next to the new cemetery at the entrance of the village. The Ancient City of Pessinus is known as one of the most important places of worship where the mother goddess called "Goddess Kybele" was found by the Phrygians. excavations were carried out by the University of Ghent in Belgium in 1967 until December 2008, and excavations are said to have been continued by the University of Melbourne in Australia since 2009. The artifacts obtained as a result of the excavations are exhibited in the Eskişehir ETI Archeology Museum and in the excavation house and open-air museum located on the left side at the entrance to the village of Ballıhisar before reaching the ancient city.
