We were traveling from Almaty to Astana and did not regret at all that we made a small detour and stopped by to look at the Petroglyphs. It's really impressive, there are very few people. It turned out to be a wonderful walk. In order not to return to Almaty and not make a detour, we decided to go further along the road towards Kangshengel. We drove exactly 60 km to the highway. We drove for 2 hours, because the road is broken. But there is one place where the road was washed away, the asphalt was completely destroyed, a ditch formed and therefore everyone moves out and goes around this place. It's easy to do this in dry weather, but I think if it rained the day before, you can get stuck. But the option is working.

We visited this unusual place, the concentration of petroglyphs per square meter is amazing! The guides are very passionate about their work, they will tell, show and explain where to look, what is painted and in what century they were painted. Moreover, it does not matter if you came as part of a large excursion or if you are only a couple of people, you will be provided with a fascinating story.

I was in early November, I got into a light rain (on the plus side, there was no one but my wife and me). I didn't see the full picture, the wet rocks don't allow it, but the atmosphere of the place and the attitude of the staff smoothed everything out. Have time to see before nature takes its course. Unfortunately, weathering and natural destruction are taking place.

The place is very nice. The petroglyphs are wonderful. Transport does not go here, you need to order a car. It is a pity that the tour leaves much to be desired: it is conducted along a shortened route, explaining almost nothing - the role of the guide is to protect the monument from vandalism. (However, the guides have a strange practice of jumping on graves, I'm not sure that this is good.) The museum is located a few kilometers from the petroglyphs, there are few interesting exhibits, but you can buy great souvenirs.

A very great place, an excellent visitor center, it's a pity that the petroglyphs are falling into disrepair, although they are under UNESCO protection. Time, water, wind and sun are doing their job. Although it was possible to put a protective canopy over the exposition of the Sunheads from precipitation or carry out restoration.
The staff is wonderful, we especially liked the relatively young man, he told us everything and showed us when we were in the spring of 21. I haven't seen him now

They were in the summer of 2022. I really liked the place. Convenient parking, visiting is not expensive. It's not far from the parking lot. There are many different petroglyphs on the rocks, you can climb in some places and take a closer look. It is definitely worth a visit if you will be nearby.

An unusual, mysterious, deserted and wild place under the supervision of UNESCO and an agashka guard.
Perhaps these are ancient wish boards, or maybe accounting books or an ancient social network — it's hard to say. But the sensations when you touch drawings made thousands of years ago are indescribable.
The petroglyphs are divided into groups, you can only walk, so it's better to arrive in the morning or in the spring, so as not to die from the heat.
