The Cathedral of St. Peter is located on the market square of Bremen. Petra. It began to be built in the 9th century and was completed only 400 years later. On weekdays, at noon sharp, at St. Peter's Cathedral. Peter is having a service accompanied by organ music. Admission is free. In 1973, medieval graves of bishops were discovered in the open floor of the cathedral, in which the richly decorated robes of the clergy made of Mediterranean silk, decorated with gold and precious stones, were well preserved. The rings, bowls and staffs of the bishops are also presented here. For 5 Euros, you can go down to the crypt of the cathedral or the "Lead Cellar", where well-preserved mummies are located. The mummification was facilitated by the dry climate of the cathedral, in which the bodies of the deceased sometimes dried out faster than they could decompose. These eight 17th- and 18th-century mummies are on display along with selected works of art dedicated to the finiteness of life. There are interesting statues of griffins and sphinxes at the entrance to the cathedral. You can climb the bell tower of the cathedral. After paying 4 euros and climbing 265 steps up a narrow spiral staircase, you will find yourself at an altitude of 98.5 meters, with a beautiful view of the market square and the center of Bremen. In the courtyard of the Cathedral of St. Petra has a garden where about 120 species of plants mentioned in the Bible grow.
