The largest ancient ensemble in Margilan It was built in the 18th century at the grave of a much older saint, whom I identify here not even with the Righteous Ali, but with the even older Abu Bakr Pir Siddiq, the father-in-law of the Prophet and the first of the Righteous Caliphs, and the roots of such mazars often go back to the Zoroastrian past. According to local legend, a long time ago Abu Bakr preached Islam in the mountains of Central Asia, and one day he had to run away from the infidels. An unarmed Muslim hid in a crevice, and Allah sent a flock of pigeons to help him, who quickly built nests at the entrance, so that the enemies passed by without thinking that a man was lying breathlessly right under the nests.

This is a very historic place. Especially this complex, which also includes a cemetery, is famous for its many pigeons. To be honest, I don't know the exact number at the moment, but it's definitely more than 500-700 or maybe more. This complex is visited by a lot of people, both locals and tourists . At the entrance , they sell grain and wheat ' if you want to feed the birds ' , I advise you to visit before lunch , since in summer it is very hot there after 12.00 and the pigeons are already full 😊😊😊
