I came to Borjomi for the sake of mineral water, but I found a completely different place - a place where myths seem to come to life. In the park, where there are hot springs and the eternal smell of pine needles, there is a sculpture of Prometheus. I was walking towards the baths, and suddenly I saw a bronze figure among the trees - powerful, with traces of time, but proud. Then I found out that according to the stories, there was a Prometheus grotto here, at the foot of the mountain - they say it was here that, according to legend, he was chained. In Soviet times, the sculpture was erected as a symbol of strength and victory. Now it has darkened a little from the rains, but this even makes it seem more alive, as if it really survived everything that the myth tells. A river roars nearby, steam from the springs rises above the rocks, and the mountains around are like the walls of an ancient temple. People are walking by, some are taking pictures, some are just watching in silence. I stood next to him and thought: it's strange how in such a small town you can feel something ancient, almost eternal. When the sun glides between the trees, the bronze seems to light up from the inside. And then you realize that Prometheus is still here, not chained, but the caretaker of the park, where the earth heals and warms itself.

The cave is really impressive. Karst bizarre growths stretch for a kilometer. Semi-darkness and illumination do their job: it seems that you are in a fairy tale. When you leave the cave, you exhale and there you are: chacha, wine, pomegranate juice from a kind local resident. Chacha is free to buy juice. While waiting for the bus back, I didn't even notice that I had drunk almost as much chachi as juice. 😀

This is the worst place in Georgia. I don't recommend it unless you're a fan of Borjomi. Parking is paid, entrance is paid, the park is under renovation, walk 500 meters and that's it. The water is very much for an amateur. I didn't blame the cup either. Disappointment. This particular Prometheus and waterfall are beautiful.
