We went to Sensoji Temple as to a place that is described in many tourist guides, websites dedicated to Japanese culture, and simply in brochures in many information centers. You are greeted by rows of souvenir shops where you can find everything your heart desires from religious symbols to pretty trinkets. There are a lot of Japanese people in traditional outfits on the street, you can't find such clothes in the city itself, and we were very lucky to see them, we used to read about them in books and seen in movies. Also, of course, there are a lot of tourists here, there's no escaping them... Unless it starts to rain. When it started, everyone was literally washed away from the streets, it was finally possible to see the temple, walk along the deserted avenue. At the same time, we learned how cheap and high-quality umbrellas are sold in local shops. We even took one home with us, it turned out to be so well made. The temple itself resembles a huge Japanese hat pulled down over its eyes, for some reason this is the first comparison that comes to mind and is immediately remembered. Inside there are places for offerings and religious rituals. But everything is restrained and dignified in Japanese. This is a good place to get to know and experience the traditions of the local culture.

A place of power. A must-visit in Tokyo. It's convenient to get there, it's interesting to see. I recommend a guided visit, because the place is historical and has many spiritual nuances

A huge bright red Buddhist temple. There are huge, bright red gates at the entrance to it. A shopping street full of souvenirs leads from the gate to the temple. There are many beautiful places for taking photos and selfies all around. It's an elegant place, everyone likes it.
