The new airport is very nice and modern. Convenient security and passport control , the staff is polite . Nice new business lounge on the second floor. There is a delicious Spanish wine. And you can see when the boarding started and how long the queue is coming to an end.

Therefore, there was confusion with the gates, gate 7 is indicated on the tickets, and 10 on the scoreboard. But you don't have to walk for a long time, you can figure it out. I liked the airport.

But I got there shortly after its opening, and there was nothing in it, no money to exchange, no SIM card to buy, nothing at all except departure and arrival - which is not quite right and convenient, since not everyone travels with a SIM card and money from this state, and someone - and for the first time. It's good that I was welcomed, but I'm taking a star off for that. I also took off a star for a very long check-up upon arrival at the airport. I stood there for a very long time, or the windows didn't work enough, or I just had bad luck, or there were a lot of people in front of me with additional questions, I don't know, but for this I took the star down to 3 (so it would have been 4). Just for comparison, I completed everything in 10 minutes in Karaganda, literally, provided the plane was fully landed.

The paradoxes of Shymkent. 1. Why are the border guards not working constantly or taking into account the departure in 3 hours? They start screening an hour before departure. As a result, people are standing together in a 100-meter queue and the passage to them is one, the second is closed. There were 2 flights together and there was really such a queue. 2. Again, as in the old airport, customs officers have only 5 posts. Taking into account the first point, we have queues. Why such a configuration? Is there no expectation of passenger traffic growth? 3. The same applies on arrival. There are 5 or 6 customs posts, and we have at least a 30-minute queue. 4. Baggage unloading belts are something, suitcases get stuck. 5 there are few seats for passengers in the waiting room. 6. Is the ATM only Halyk after opening the branch?) It's a great airport, unlike the old one. I especially liked the Palermo cafe on the ground floor. The food is delicious and the prices are low, unlike the airports in Astana and Almaty. The staff at Palermo Cafe is wonderful, the service is excellent! Special thanks to the bartender Doss, who also helped me order a taxi and navigate an unfamiliar city. It should be noted that the Nebo restaurant on the 4th floor does not work at night for some reason. If it wasn't for the Palermo cafe, I would have stayed hungry. But this cafe not only provided delicious and inexpensive food, but also helped to order a cafe - many thanks to Doss and his partner!

Otherwise, because of the shortage of them, pimply teenagers from a cafe with a propeller strive to put their greasy and dirty hands in the dishes. Maybe they just hate visitors from the bottom of their hearts. They really wipe their hands on forks. I was shocked, I noticed it well. I was really wearing a T-shirt about the USSR.
