It is a very interesting place, if you are in this region, you should definitely go to the ancient city of Side. The amphitheater is huge. A footpath runs along a shopping street with remnants of shops, and small alleys run sideways from it. You can imagine your past life directly. There are many different ruins in different parts. We went by ourselves, it would be very interesting with a good guide. The town around the port is built of stylized houses, they are modern, but made according to the patterns of the old ones. If you get off the main tourist routes, you can find really old houses. There is an infrastructure for wild tourists - an information center with toilets and snacks, convenient parking for minibuses in different directions, it is difficult to get lost.

Part of the museum with air conditioning. This is a big plus. Inside there is a set of interesting sculptures and a treasure trove of coins. Household items and weapons, everything is as usual in the museums of antiquity. Previously, there was a skeleton of the defender of the city, which was found during excavations inside the bathhouse pool. His son remembered him at the age of 5, and at the age of 8 he really wanted to visit, but the Turks realized that it was unethical to expose him, nevertheless they destroyed the city. And now there's no skeleton, you don't have to look for it anymore. He discovered an altar of a Hittite deity with a recess for blood or wine, became imbued with energy and donated 5 rubles. Rubles and euros are not accepted, only Lira. If antiquity is at least a little interesting, it is a must-visit for all vacationers, buses from all hotels on the coast take you here.

There is something to see, there is a place to walk. It's not a big but cozy museum. Life hack, take a ticket only for the walking part, no one is watching the second ticket with expositions, so you don't have to overpay, but just go in and watch three halls.

Unfortunately, at the time of my stay there, the museum was closed for renovation, it was generally closed, but in the evening I saw that people were freely passing through the turnstile, which was not blocked and were going to watch. I went too, and I didn't regret it at all. It's a very interesting place. It feels like I've touched and visited the past, but in places it's very noticeable that a modern craftsman has already had a hand in it, and much has already been repaired. The ancient statues are impressive, you look at them and think, "how well preserved," but when you look closer, you see the inscription "replica," I'll attach a photo. Anyway, if possible, the place is mandatory to visit.

Only lira is accepted at the checkout, although prices are indicated in euros. The exposition is interesting, although not very extensive: there are only three halls inside and a small area around. There are a lot of interesting signs, there is an English translation, so we read everything with the help of a translator. You can spend from 30 minutes to 1 hour on the entire museum, there's probably nothing to do there for longer.

A stunning place that allows you to see the city with your own eyes, perfect marble sculptures, and touch the incredibly beautiful marble buildings that are more than 2 thousand years old!

Here, history is set in stone. I've always dreamed of visiting an ancient city. And then my husband and I arrived in Side. The ancient city is big and beautiful. Located right behind the hotels. They found entire streets that were preserved under a layer of soil. There is a very beautiful fountain, temples, gymnasium, hospital, baths. The arch is alive. There is also a museum of objects and statues found in the city. The best part is that the excavations are continuing, which means that the museum's collection will be replenished and new discoveries will be made in the city. Part of the ancient city ended up on the territory of the modern one. They handled it very carefully - they excavated it, covered it with glass, and illuminated it. The modern city is also beautiful. Between the ancient city and the port there is an area built up with houses in a typical Turkish style. It's very nice and cozy there. In the evening, the streets are illuminated by lanterns with warm and soft light. It's nice to walk there. I recommend you to visit. Here you will definitely relax and recharge with the energy of beauty for the whole year.

A beautiful museum located in the old town of Side. It shows the history of ancient Turkey and, in particular, Side itself. My family and I spared no time and money to watch and practically feel this story. I recommend you to visit.

Walking around the old town is always interesting! Everything is so coolly realized that the floor in places is glass and the old ruins of the city are under it! There are many shops for every taste. You can buy clothes, souvenirs and, most importantly, delicious food! Very nice view of the Mediterranean Sea! Everything is very clean and tidy! A great place to relax.

An interesting place) Small, calm. In an hour, we turned back and forth on foot from the bus stop to the temple and back, took pictures. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on a separate tour here on a guided tour bus now, for stories about the 35 kilometer aqueduct, etc.) It's better to take a regular bus in advance, take a quiet walk, without being tied to the tour group, it will be much cheaper and calmer.

We walked around the ancient city and then went to the museum. I don't recommend coming during the day in the heat. As you walk through the excavated city, there is neither a tree nor a shadow. It's very hot, unbearable. We cooled off a bit in the museum, it has air conditioning. The exhibits are interesting, and it's worth a look at least once. The amphitheater is closed for restoration, but the guide at the hotel said that supposedly with their tours you can get there (I hardly believe it!). We went by ourselves, on our own, the price for 2 tickets came out at 950 lira.

The place is interesting. You can take a look if you're interested, I probably wouldn't go. The museum is small, there is no wow effect, the information on the exhibits is not informative. I think my photos and videos will be enough to make decisions about his visit. The cost is 235 lire per person.

It's beautiful here! We made a lot of great shots. Near the sea, you can even wet your feet))) It's nice to walk around the area with such a long history. We recommend it! In the late afternoon, the sun doesn't bake as much as it does during the day, but that's how it turns out)

We can say that the whole city of Side is a museum. Wherever you go, there are exhibits of antiquity everywhere. During the construction of new houses, parts of the ancient decoration of the houses were discovered. Because the museums are crowded, it was decided to close the finds with glass. In many stores, the floor is glass and you can walk in and take a look. Large areas of the streets are also covered with glass. Unfortunately, seeds got into some places and grass grew, which makes it difficult to see the finds.

We came to Turkey for a vacation and decided to take a walk around the city of Side. We walked along an ancient Roman road paved with stones. We looked at the fountain and the antique market. We reached the colosseum. I really liked him. In good condition, with stone steps. To see inside, we went and paid for the tickets. There are no queues. We joined a tour group and listened to the history of the building. We went to the museum, which is located in the building of the Roman baths. (There are the same tickets). There are many ancient statues and sarcophagi in the museum. I really liked the statue of Hermes, in excellent condition. The museum is not big, we went around in an hour, but the buildings on the street were examined for a long time (and photographed). I really liked everything. We recommend it))

As the teenage son said, you should definitely visit such a place once in your life :) I was very interested in the ticket price, I couldn't find this information anywhere in the reviews and they all wrote some different numbers, so August 2025 the ticket price is 5 euros (see photo) or 235 lira, but you only visit a small museum with three halls + a small exposition on the street - we liked everything - we recommend considering that the amphitheater is covered in construction cranes and there is no access there now, there are no Russian signs anywhere either, opening hours in summer are from 8-30 to 21-00, the ticket office is until 20-30 (on Yandex, information before 17-30 does not correspond to reality), in summer, in such heat, you can only go outside at 17-30 not earlier... Travel by public transport from the village 14 km from Side cost 55 liras

The museum is very small: three halls + a courtyard. Very poor descriptions of the exhibits. If you are "out of touch", it looks like just old ruins. The potential is huge, but no one seems to care. Price for October 2023: 130 liras (~500 rubles) per person.
