Why is it worth visiting the Novgorod region?
Veliky Novgorod is a place where the sights show us the history of Russia.
Here you can see ancient churches and temples of various types, touch what was created centuries ago by Grand Dukes Vladimir and Yaroslav the Wise. This city was the second center of Kievan Rus. Here you can visit the place where the statue of the pagan god Perun was thrown into the water, learn the story of the merchant Sadko, and even visit the same lake off the shores of which he sang his songs. The boundary between antiquity and modernity is blurred here.
See the most ancient Russian Kremlin. Many ancient buildings have been preserved on the territory of the Novgorod Kremlin: cathedrals, monuments and museums.
Listen to the Valdai bells. On the shore of the transparent Valdai Lake there is an ancient city, the birthplace of the famous Yamshchitsky bells. According to legend, in the 15th century, the Novgorod veche bell broke on Valdai, and small bells appeared from its fragments, the sound of which could be heard throughout the area.
To improve health in Staraya Russa. The ancient city is known for its healing mineral waters and sulfide-silt mud. In addition, ancient temples and monasteries have been preserved here, and unusual museums operate.
Visit the Museum of folk wooden architecture "Vitoslavlitsy". This is an open—air museum, where the best examples of Russian wooden architecture are collected - real old huts, rural chapels and churches.

An excellent hotel almost in the center of Lugansk. Cafe on the ground floor, grocery store opposite. The rooms are clean, new furniture and fresh bed linen. There is a water outage after 22:00, but this is most likely temporary. There are polite, pretty girls at the reception. In the corridors there are paintings in the style of Soviet realism, and in some places a portrait of V.I. Lenin, which evoke nostalgic notes about the universal brotherhood of the USSR.
