Even though the food was decent and the restaurant has a certain old-fashioned charm, the service was shockingly poor. The head waiter was appallingly rude and dismissive towards us — cutlery and salt arrived only after the food, a salad we ordered never came, and when we naturally refused to pay for it, he followed us outside in a confrontational manner. What truly crossed the line, however, was his complicity in harassment: a group of men at another table attempted to send drinks to us, and instead of shutting it down, the head waiter himself came over to ask what we’d like to drink — as if part of the arrangement. Utterly unprofessional. Helpful tip for future diners: women, avoid this place if you’d rather not endure degrading looks and attitudes. Queer folk — steer well clear. There are far better restaurants in town that offer not only good food, but also basic respect.
