Mount Aragats has 4 peaks, the highest is the northern one (4095 m), the western one is 4007 m, the eastern one is 3916 m, and the southern one is 3879 m. It is a cone with a perimeter of up to 200 km. Between the peaks there is a volcanic crater 350 m deep and 2.5 km wide. The peaks are located on the border of two marzes - Shirak and Aragatsotn. If your goal is to get to the southern peak, the easiest, then the easiest way is to walk from Lake Kari - there is an asphalt road to it. If you have an SUV, you can drive a little higher by shortening the route - go around the restaurant on the right and climb higher. I managed to climb 3475m. There is nothing complicated on the route, it takes three hours to complete at a calm pace - in fact, this route can be one of the first for a beginner. The only problem is the lack of acclimatization - if you start from Yerevan (it is approximately around 1000m), you will gain 3000m in a day, and then you will lose weight - most likely you will feel a miner - stock up on water and some ibuprofen, this should help. Be sure to wear a windproof jacket and good shoes, preferably for trekking/hiking, as these shoes usually have a vibrato sole. But you can also walk in slates, if desired :)
