Гродненский Фарный Костёл был освящён в 1705 году. Хотя статус "фарного", т.е. главного он получил в 1782 году. Этот великолепный храм является одной из самых больших барочных базилик в Восточной Европе. Диаметр главного купола более 12 метров. А часы на башне - это одни из самых старейших действующих башенных часов в Европе. Нам рассказывал гид, что в механизме отсутствует один зубец и часовщик поднимается на башню каждые 2-3 дня чтобы исправить отставание часового механизма.
Внутри храма огромный и очень красивый алтарь. Высота алтаря 21 метр! Справа от главного алтаря находится чудотворная икона Матери Божьей Конгрегатской.
Папа Римский пожаловал костёлу Святого Франциска Ксаверия титул «малая базилика», который присваивается только самым значительным католическим храма мира.
Обязательно советую посетить этот храм!
