This beautiful Gothic building is exactly 800 years old, but in its original form this Catholic church was built even earlier. The history of the cathedral, like the history of the country, is dramatic. And in 1537, during the English Reformation, the cathedral was transferred to the Anglican Church. Being the largest cathedral in Ireland, it is the venue for official ceremonies and services broadcast throughout the country.
