Yes. Indeed! The ancient lighthouse is already a landmark of the coast! We come to Pitsunda, it is to these buildings that we have been visiting for 4 years. The sea is clean, You can't breathe enough air, Pine trees on the shore... Heaven on earth! And the coast, whenever I take a photo, as if there are no people on the beach. There are people, it's just that the length of the coast creates such an impression. On a huge territory (paid entrance and entry) there are several towers from the time of the USSR - hotels (sanatoriums), many trees, benches, stalls. Cicadas are constantly in the background around. The shore has very large boulders, you can break your legs. But in general, an interesting place!

Minus stars for his condition, for being rotten through and through. It is already standing only on the external supports of the Soviet ones, the metal has almost completely rotted at the base. And for the fact that the locals are proud of this lighthouse! It's a shame! Have attractions that show what kind of host you are! Moreover, it stands in front of the hotels.... Aren't you ashamed of the management of these hotels? Some money would be broken off from what they charge from vacationers and patched up.... Sheets of metal, welding machine, paint and a couple of workers for a month... Very expensive!

In a couple of years, the locals will show the foundation, and tell another story about the lighthouse that was built 150 years ago.Also, neither the administration nor the management of the Mayak sanatorium could find a couple of buckets of paint and some metal for repair, so it had to be dismantled. The Lighthouse was built from open sources in 1893.
In 1959, during the construction of the resort complex, it was planned to demolish the Lighthouse. However, the architects did not disassemble the Lighthouse as a result and it remained in its former place to live out its days.
For many decades, the lighthouse with its light showed the way to seafarers. Therefore, it must be preserved as a historical monument and landscaped accordingly.

It is located near the coastline, next to the multi-storey buildings of the Association of boarding houses "Resort Pitsunda" "Amza" and "Mayak", an iron tower rises, surrounded by a metal frame.
Its height is 36 meters above sea level.
It was erected during the reign of Nicholas II, in 1891, with the participation of the Directorate of Lighthouses and lots of the Black and Azov Seas.
According to the 1875 plan of "Gradual work on the construction of lighthouses", the construction of the lighthouse in Pitsunda was in the third stage of the construction of the Sukhumi highway.
But due to the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878, the deadlines shifted slightly, as a result, the lighthouse was completed only by 1891.
For many decades, this lighthouse has indicated a safe route for ships entering the bay of Pitsunda.
Until 1953, an old kerosene searchlight operated at the lighthouse, it was replaced during the reconstruction. From 1953 to the end of the 1960s, an electric searchlight operated at the lighthouse.
Now the lighthouse is no longer working, and having "retired", it has become one of the symbols of Abkhazia, a local landmark. The entrance door of the old lighthouse is tightly welded shut.
Due to the peculiarities of the sea air, over the many years that it stood under the sea winds, the lighthouse began to rust, and its hull was fixed using supports for this purpose.
Instead of the old lighthouse, a modern lighthouse has been installed in the city, but the old tower still attracts travelers.
Despite its unpresentable appearance, the lighthouse is a landmark and a symbol of Pitsunda. It can often be seen on city brochures and postcards.

It is a pity that local residents and the administration of the boarding house do not bother to put such an important landmark in order. But the lighthouse is in a depressing state, rusty and rotten, in a few years there will simply be nothing to restore, only dismantling. He was here before the boarding houses, they lined up around him. He remembers a lot, but they forgot about him. But the lighthouse could become an ornament of this place. I hope that together with the boarding house named after the lighthouse, it will be renovated. The sea is all around and the nature is wonderful.

A cool lighthouse, which is more than 300 years old, stood in front of our balcony, creating a small entourage of antiquity. Especially inquisitive people can climb on it, with us the guys at around 23:00 quietly got in there, although they were immediately accepted at the bottom. But we do not recommend climbing there, because it can be a traumatic thing. Underneath, it's all rotted away a long time ago and the cracks are the size of a human torso.

It is unclear what to evaluate. Just an old lighthouse, left as an art object in the military industrial complex of Pitsunda.
You can't go inside the lighthouse, and it's just dangerous - it's all rusted through. Beautiful photos with the lighthouse will also be difficult to achieve - it stands 10 meters from the hotel building. I can't imagine what a beautiful angle there could be.
If you live in the military industrial complex of Pitsunda, then it's worth going. Going specifically to see the lighthouse is a dubious idea.
