Grodno is the most beautiful city in Belarus. The old castle is beautiful, although not huge in size, but it deserves attention. The Old Castle, located on a high and steep hill on the right bank of the Neman River in the city of Grodno, is a unique monument of architecture and archeology and the only preserved royal castle on the territory of modern Belarus. For a long time it was the residence of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and the kings of Poland...The castle began to be built back in the days of the Ancient Russian state and was repeatedly destroyed, restored and rebuilt. The palace, fragments of defensive walls, ruins of the Lower and Upper Churches, princely chambers, and the bridge have been preserved to this day...Now the Grodno State Historical and Archaeological Museum is located in the castle! Tickets to the museum were taken on the spot, there are discounts for preferential categories, group tours are held. The ticket office is open until 17 o'clock. The museum is very interesting and includes many different exhibitions, ranging from demonstrations of the stages of construction to household items of kings, royal chambers, including baths and the secretary's room.... The castle also has a small souvenir shop, as well as an observation deck on the roof, which offers beautiful views of the Neman and the city.

You can also wish to have audio guides and warn visitors before they hand over clothes to the wardrobe that on the top floor at the end of the tour route there will be an exit to an open observation deck so that those who will go up to the wardrobe will not hand over clothes. We were at the castle for the May holidays. I was lucky with the weather. You can visit the castle at 11:45, inspect the expositions and by 11:58 climb up to the second platform to listen to the bugler on the fire tower and the view of the city is excellent.

The attendants in the halls (some) do not want to tell, and they also do not want to answer simple questions, they answer with an arrogant look: "you don't have to." It spoils the impression and the mood. However, not all of them. Some, on the contrary, suggest what to watch and where to read. In general, they did not regret it.
