In 2002, at the initiative of local priests, a sculpture of Jesus Christ was installed near the church. A smaller replica of the statue in Rio de Janeiro. By analogy with the Brazilian one, Christ has spread out His arms – embracing God. Since then, tourists have considered this statue to be the hallmark of the city.
