Kari Lake, Kari-lich in Armenian, is a high—altitude lake in Armenia, located on the slopes of Mount Aragats in the Aragatsotn region. Translated from Armenian, it means "stone lake" — the reservoir got this nickname due to its rocky shore. The lake is of glacial origin. During the melting of the glacier that covered the slopes of Aragats many centuries ago, the meltwater flowed into the depressions, gradually filling them. In the northern part of the lake there is a small mountain with a panoramic view of the lake. There is a cross on the mountain. Trout are found in the lake, and their population is maintained by annual stocking with fry raised in artificial conditions. Since the glacial meltwater does not evaporate, the amount of Kari is gradually increasing, but environmentalists are in no hurry to sound the alarm, since the area of the natural mountain basin allows the lake to grow for a long time.
