It's a beautiful place with great views. The monastery complex is one of the oldest in Armenia, located on the cliff of a gorge. Inside, behind the walls, there is the Peter and Paul Cathedral, two churches and a unique swinging octagonal pillar (Gavazan) on a hinged base, erected in 895. You can get there by the longest cable car (almost 6 km) or by car. We got to the monastery by cable car (it was the last flight, we left the car in the parking lot), and took a taxi back to the parking lot at the monastery for 8000 AMD, drove back along the serpentine.

It is best to start visiting Tatev from this point. We arrived on our own from Yerevan by car. We found out on the spot that the cable car needs to be booked in advance, because tour groups go in a row. But we were lucky - there were just two empty seats in both directions for the near future. A tour guide helped to purchase tickets for the right time. She also offered to join her group for free during a guided tour of the monastery itself. The elevator cabin has an audio guide in Armenian, Russian and English. There are stunning views of all the sights along the way. There is a picturesque park with pool pools and convenient free parking near the cable car.

Tatev Monastery, the cable car to it and the arched bridge are mandatory places to visit the city of Goris in Armenia. An interesting temple complex, an awesome cable car and an authentic old bridge in the gorge.

Tatev Monastery is located on the edge of a cliff at an altitude of 300 meters above the gorge of the rushing Vorotan River. From here you can enjoy impressive panoramas of the surrounding villages and mountain slopes with dense green forests. The temples of the IX−XIII centuries have been preserved here — a real find for lovers of history and architecture.

An incredible place! I especially liked the cable car there. It was even scary in places) You can buy a return cable car ticket at the monastery itself, even if you only took it one way. There are shops and souvenirs on the territory of the monastery - everything is as usual. You can take a taxi and go down by car. It is very interesting to climb through the catacombs of structures near the monastery, some of the exits and windows are right over the abyss . I definitely recommend it

We climbed to them along the highest and longest cable car in the world - the views are fascinating. It is necessary to visit here. The place is very beautiful and atmospheric. Of course, it's better to take an excursion, then the story comes to life in full.

It is very beautiful and interesting! Both from a natural and cultural-architectural point of view, everything is fine. Of all the monasteries in Armenia that I have seen, this is the best, even if not the most ancient!

The funicular is a test, the views are gorgeous, you can film a lot in 12 minutes of flight, it's better to go to the back of the cabin, it's more convenient to shoot the cabins, according to the schedule from 13 to 14, many groups need to take tickets right away because the current flight is quickly disassembled

It's very beautiful! Amazing views! If you came here by the serpentine, then you can take the funicular down, or you can go back and forth. Almost 6 km of scenic airway, and it feels like you're flying

Let's start with the fact that this is a unique place, the road to Tatev itself passes through authentic Armenia, where at each site you are met by sincere people who are ready to do everything to achieve your goal. Our route ran from Vanadzor through Dilijan, along Sevan and to Goris with a total duration of 6 hours. Along the way, there were areas with dorga repairs, where there was no hint of asphalt, and the car periodically touched small boulders with its belly even at a speed of 5-10 km / h, you need to be more careful in these areas. I was driving alone and I wanted to take a break after a long journey, we decided to stay at the Goris hotel (this is a separate story). The journey from Goris to the beginning of the cable car took about 20-25 minutes. Already on the way to the ticket office of the cable car, a stunning panorama will open in front of you and you and Tremet will be waiting for the start of your flight on the wings of a tattoo. There are not so many people in the morning, so by buying a ticket in both directions (to the monastery and back) you will calmly walk into the cabin where the soulful music and the pleasant voice of the audio guide of the cabin itself will tell you about the places over which you will fly.

One of the beautiful viewpoints of Mount Ararat. By the way, there is a cafe opposite, we had lunch here, the most delicious pork from all the places we tried in Armenia. There are many trees growing, including almonds. For the first time we saw and knocked down a bunch. However, in the land of stones there is nothing to break them with. According to the legend, told by the wonderful driver Ovik, in this place Charents liked to lay by the collar, admiring Ararat and then wrote his works under the impression and, probably, the most delicious Armenian wine. The views are really beautiful. I highly recommend it. The place is not big, but iconic.

The most beautiful mountains in Armenia. The serpentine leading from Tatev to the Devil's Bridge, in comparison with motorways, at first seems like an extreme sport))). The monastery is also impressive. There is a reversible road. Cafes. Retail outlets.

This monastery makes an incredible impression and simply "gives wings". There are so many places where you can climb inside the walls of the monastery and find beautiful views from the balconies. It is best to get to Tatev by funicular. 6 km of an exciting journey over the abyss. Only in cloudy weather and in a thunderstorm, the funicular can not work for an hour and a half, waiting for a clear sky.

In general, it is very good, the cable car works like clockwork. Tickets, code scanners. A short tour in 3 languages. The starting point near Aligdzor looks even European. The views are magnificent. If you know the political situation that Azerbaijan has a grudge against the Syunik region, then the Armenians should be given their due, they did not abandon it. There are many locals selling their goods at the exit from Tatev. Moreover, it is much cheaper than in Yerevan. I bought wine, thyme, and churchkhella. The wine in an unpresentable bottle and a half was incredibly delicious and stunning. The churchkhella did not resemble the Sochi ascaris, they were hefty strands of jelly and nuts. You can kill if you hit him on the head with that. It is clear that the cordiality of the locals is feigned, but they sell from the bottom of their hearts.

It's a great place, even though it's more than 200 km away from Yerevan via serpentines. Good views from the cable car, which is also the longest in the world. The monastery itself is also good. There is a lot to see and the scenery is beautiful.

The area itself is beautiful. I liked. But what tourists are doing in these ancient places has fascinated me. It is a pity that no one "reglaminates" the rules of behavior in such ancient, holy and powerful places. (I've seen similar behavior along my entire route to similar places) Groups of tourists arrange a "farce" (a bazaar, a train station, a zoo, a "show" or I don't even know how to describe it), without understanding where they are at all. No one tells them that such places are not for this. It is rare to find an adequate and self-respecting guide who tells about such places in awe, whispers, and respectfully (most importantly, looking at the behavior of the guide and the whole group behaves the same way.) Until he barked at some of them - the whole crowd behaved like in a zoo. Well, okay)) I hope the relevant department of the country will come up with something about this "disgrace-indifference"
