It is known that Ankara has been home to many civilizations throughout history. Some of them are Hittite, Firigian and Roman civilizations. The temple of Augustus, which was dedicated to the Roman Emperor Augustus during the time of the Romans, is located on the hill called by the same name in the Hacı Bayram district of Ankara. Unfortunately, only a part of the Augustus temple, one wall of which is leaning against the Haci Bayram mosque located on the same hill, has survived to this day. The remains of the temple can be seen scattered in many areas of the hill.
