A magnificent temple with unique stained glass windows. A very large space, the ceiling beams seem to float in the air. The king who united the country into a single whole was crowned here.

A very beautiful Gothic building in the heart of Bath. The abbey was founded here in the 7th century. The year is 675! Then the church was rebuilt several times, the last time in the 16th century. It's just amazing. When I see such dates and see in front of me a magnificent building in excellent condition (sorry for so many excellent forms), I can't help but admire. Another reason why many tourists come here is that it was here that King Edgar of England was crowned. He was not the first king, but it was his coronation ceremony that was documented in detail and became a precedent for all subsequent coronations, including Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III. So this place is an amazing combination of religious and secular historical importance, which is not often the case with non-metropolitan cities. Unfortunately, we didn't get inside, but we bypassed the abbey from the outside. Our guide set the route perfectly - we first looked at the Pulteney Bridge, and then walked to the abbey; it's literally a five-minute, very leisurely walk. In front of the abbey is a wide street that will take you further to the Bath Baths, and on the left is a small square where musicians perform. A very beautiful church with a rich history. If you are in Bath, then at least you need to approach it, go around it; if possible, go inside.
