1. Built in the 6th century by King Dachi Ujarmeli, son of King Vakhtang Gorgasali. 2. It’s the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi, still active and peaceful. 3. Originally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it later took the name “Anchiskhati” when a sacred icon from the Anchi Monastery was moved here. 4. The church has a three-nave basilica design, simple and strong - rare for this region. 5. Inside, you’ll find stone walls, soft light, and quiet prayer - no gold, no grandeur, just deep history. 6. It’s part of the Georgian Orthodox Church, and services are still held here. 7. The building has survived invasions, earthquakes, and Soviet rule, making it a symbol of endurance. 8. Located in Old Tbilisi, near the Gabriadze Theater and the Clock Tower. 9. Entry is free, respectful dress is appreciated, and photography is allowed outside. 10. A must-visit for anyone interested in Georgia’s spiritual roots and ancient architecture.

A wonderful church of the 5th-6th century. The rector says that this church has not stopped its work for 1.5 millennia (with the exception of the 40 years of the Soviet period). There is an icon from Byzantium of the Savior not made with hands. You can leave notes for health and peace.

A gorgeous place! Very beautiful! An ancient temple of the 6th century! The priest approached in a friendly way and began to tell the story of the temple, they wrote notes for health and for the repose! A place of power!
