This is a live story! The city, which appeared in 2 thousand BC.e., which flourished and was forgotten, thanks to archaeologists and restorers, is returning from oblivion again. It was an amazing feeling to touch the buildings (or what was left of them), to walk through the streets of a city ruled by many emperors, visited more than once by the Apostle Paul, and Apollonius, the great astronomer and mathematician, was born. The territory of the complex is huge, but everything is very impressive. It is tempting to look at the gates, ancient walls and floor mosaics, ruins of thermal baths, temples, columns, fountains. The local stadium and even the arena where gladiators once fought have been perfectly preserved. But you can't get into the theater, work is underway. Someone gets there and walks among the ancient ruins on their own, but it is more convenient to come with a group accompanied by a guide. And the walk promises to be pleasant.

The ancient city occupies a large territory. The inspection will take from 2.5 hours. There are many preserved walls and foundations of buildings. Poppies and cacti bloom beautifully nearby. There are public areas with a toilet and a cafe. You can get there on your own. It takes about 20 minutes on foot from the bus stop. I was disappointed that the huge amphitheater (across the street from the main viewing area) was closed for reconstruction, and has been for many years. Admission costs 11€. It is more comfortable to visit this place after 3 p.m., when the heat is already waning, as there are few places on the territory where you can hide from the sun.

An atmospheric place to explore the ruins of an ancient Roman city. Touching the ruins gave me goosebumps, because every stone is a story. I walked around the city for three whole hours. It's just a pity that the amphitheater was closed. Definitely worth a visit to this place! I recommend comfortable shoes, and also take water bottles with you, as it is too expensive at the local museum store, and it is very hot here. The entrance ticket cost 11 euros.
