The Kedron Valley is located east of the Old City, between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives, and is mentioned many times in the Bible. The valley is also known by the Old Testament name — Jehoshaphat Valley. Kedron means "gloomy". The mystical valley is revered as a holy place by Christians, Jews and Muslims. It is believed that it is here that the trumpet of the archangel will sound and the resurrected dead will appear before the Judgment of God. That is why Christian, Jewish and Muslim cemeteries are located on the slopes of the valley, in which tombs of different times and peoples have been layered on top of each other for centuries. The name Kedron Valley does not come from cedars, as many mistakenly believe (there have never been cedars in the valley), but from the name of the stream — Kedron (Hebrew "kedar" — darkness), flowing in a dark valley. The Kedron Valley is associated with the Royal Valley, the place where Abraham was met by the king of Sodom and Melchizedek, who came to bless him. I recommend visiting here if you get the chance. You won't regret it!
