Cool hotel in the old town. Walking distance to the main attractions of this part of Baku. I would like to note the following:
1. The interior and rooms are very spacious, high ceilings, high-quality finishing materials. In the deluxe, I didn't have enough coat hangers at the entrance.
2. The breakfasts are great! A large selection of products, all of the best quality. A lot of people from other hotels come here to have a delicious meal or to hold a meeting.
3. The staff is aerobatic, they are always ready to help and solve all issues (a transfer from the hotel costs 2-3 times more than a Yango taxi, but they immediately warn you about the price).
I recommend you to visit!

A pleasant hotel in the old town, within walking distance to the main attractions. Excellent breakfasts, an interior bar, aka a restaurant, and a comfortable bed.
There is a small nuance - the windows do not open at all. Therefore, you have to turn on the air conditioner, but in general it is not critical.
In the evenings, the restaurant is usually packed and the service is very slow, so this needs to be taken into account.
But in general, the standards of hospitality are excellent. Something tells me that I'll be back here again.

Oh, what a beautiful hotel it was! We will definitely return there. And most importantly, they are the kindest and most sensitive staff, very kind and friendly people. The staff of this hotel is top notch! The cleaner deserves special praise, she is a wonderful woman and thank you very much.
Also, the food is delicious there, and I've never had a better breakfast in Baku. The chefs are great. Well, I was hungry again as soon as I remembered about their kitchen!
There's also a beautiful bar, but I can't appreciate it because I didn't order or sit there.
This hotel is the number one of all the hotels in the Old Town. I guarantee that you will be comfortable there!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for three days. We liked everything, it was a very nice and beautiful hotel. The staff is just great, everyone is friendly, helpful and pleasant. And the location is just perfect, especially for tourists for a few days. Close to all the main attractions, the embankment, surrounded by pedestrian streets with lots of cafes and restaurants. We were satisfied with everything.

The hotel is located in an ideal location for tourists. Here you will find the old town and a street with restaurants and fountain square and ATMs with banks. There is a stunning promenade with blooming baobabs nearby (yes, yes, this is not a joke). The hotel is clean, everything is cleaned, the staff is perfectly trained and speaks many languages. A small note-with a great kitchen, the prices are a little expensive, but this can be considered a mark-up on the service.

You are a tourist, you came to see Baku for two or three days... this hotel is for you, convenient location, near Primorsky Boulevard and the Old Town... clean, friendly, there are no problems with the Russian language in Baku at all. The breakfasts are normal. The rooms are large. I liked everything.

A great hotel, I stayed here in April for a week. Excellent location, the main gate of the old town is no more than 100 m away. There are many shops, cafes, banks around. Very friendly receptionists at the reception - always with a smile and willingness to help in everything, Very cozy, atmospheric and spacious room on the 5th floor. There is everything you need: a spacious safe, kettle, bathrobes, slippers, and a good hair dryer. Huge bathroom (separate shower), 2 washbasins🙂very convenient in the morning, no need to wait your turn))) excellent breakfasts: helpful waiters, freshly squeezed juices (beetroot, carrot, apple), excellent yoghurts, make omelets of your choice, coffee. Live music on weekends.

The building has a history, the interior is filled with aesthetics. The service is beyond praise. The breakfasts are delicious, albeit pompous. Choosing between other hotels of global chains, I am very glad that I chose this one. The center, the balcony, the atmosphere. I recommend it!

We had a wonderful and memorable week in Baku. First we stayed in an apartment on airbnb. And it was a sad experience.
Then a few nights at the Fairmont Hotel. A decent chain hotel with a magnificent view.
And so we arrive at the Merchant Hotel for the last three days. We are greeted with sincere cordiality. It immediately feels like the guests are sincerely welcome here.
In general, Merchant is a small, authentic hotel in the very center. Everything is within walking distance. It is only necessary to leave the hotel:
On the left - 5 minutes and you are on the magnificent coastal boulevard. Evening walks along the Caspian Sea will remain in your heart forever!
On the right - 3 minutes to the main entrance to Icheri Sheher. Be sure to take a guide and immerse yourself in the history of Baku!
The hotel is very beautiful. It's expensive to make. It's very atmospheric. There is a Michelin-starred restaurant on the ground floor. The rooms are windowless, with blind windows and a balcony. If possible, take a room with a balcony. A cup of coffee on a cozy balcony above the bustle of the city delivers) The room has exquisite decoration. It's spacious. Everything you need is there. Thanks to the hotel for the wonderful memories!
PS. A few tips on Baku itself. Paying with dollars in the city is quite problematic, so plan your finances in advance. It is better to immediately change a small amount to manats at the airport, since the exchange rate is higher. By taxi and so on. Then the course is better in the city. By the way, the Merchant hotel is almost the only place where you can pay with dollars. The guys at the hotel helped solve everything. Special thanks for that! For Russians, install Uber Russia in advance. The transfer is 2-3 times more expensive. And the taxi itself in Baku is very cheap. The return transfer to the airport by Uber Black cost us 20 manats ($12-13).
I didn't like it:
Expensive breakfasts. 40 manats per person. Take the option of accommodation without breakfast. Fortunately, there are a lot of cafes of different kinds near the hotel. The guys from the hotel will guide you. The bar and room service were open until 12 a.m. Which, again, is compensated by the gastronomic surroundings of the hotel.

A magnificent hotel. A room was booked at Boutique 19, but an error occurred there. The Merchant ended up on the same network and posted there. The kitchen is gorgeous, the rooms are great. I was in a hurry to get to the airport, I left my bag. On a call to the airport, she was delivered very quickly. Many thanks to all the staff for the warm welcome.

Great hotel. Very attentive, responsive staff. The location is just a bomb, everything is nearby, the transport interchange is convenient. The main attractions and the old town are just around the corner, as well as the embankment. The breakfasts are excellent, besides there are a lot of restaurants around. A good hotel, a good location to the historical center of the city, but in this regard there is a minus) noisy! On the one hand, the windows overlook a busy highway, on the other a pedestrian street with a bunch of coffee shops, buzzing until night!) The rooms are clean and interesting enough, but the hairdryer does not work in the bathroom!- for security reasons (so explained), so I had to look for an outlet and a mirror… It took me a while to figure out why the refrigerator wasn't working!.. it turns out that it also turns on only at the moment when you are in the room and inserted the card (In general, I recommend service, friendliness, breakfast is all on 4+
