I'll give you 5, because there really is something to compare it with. Visited in March 2025. Located in the city center, easy to find. There are guards on the approach, who should politely tell you which way to go in order to queue on the street when applying for a visa. Up the steps and slightly to the left, you can safely reach the main entrance to the queue of visitors. It is better to immediately ask for what time someone is registered, there are many people who arrive earlier than the appointed time, but no one will be allowed in ahead of time, they strictly ask for what time who submitted the questionnaires. When you get inside, they take away all your personal belongings and put them in a tray, give you a number and return everything to you on the way back. You don't have to be afraid, everything is safe and sound, even bank cards are not afraid to hand over. Unfortunately, I did not take photos, I thought it would be risky and suspicious when you come to another city, another country and photograph the property of a foreign state. After everyone has deposited their personal belongings in the egg, a guard approaches each group and glues a sticker, then escorts them to the elevator and together they go up to the floor. This shows that there is a very clear organization inside the embassy, no one is in a hurry, and everything is in order. On the floor where you are taken, they are handed over to other embassy staff, who in turn explain very clearly where and why to approach, what documents to prepare and hand over, after all the procedures, you just have to wait for your turn for an interview, the interview itself is conducted in Russian, there is no need to specifically ask for a Russian-speaking officer. As a result, in this embassy, the whole procedure from the door to the meeting with the officer takes no more than an hour, by the way, a lot of people come, perhaps because of this, such time goes away, and the closer to lunch time, the more people there are. But despite all the workload, all the embassy staff are coping and keeping up the pace. I was satisfied with the visit in terms of organization, and this is the most important thing.

Everything goes quickly, there was an appointment at 10, but at 10 I already left there, polite guards and staff. Everything would have been fine, but the consul didn't even listen to me, asked 3 questions and immediately refused. Is that fair? I don't know, but he didn't even look at my package of documents. When I was there, many people had their visas approved, and there were many refusals from the African-American in the far-left window. The interior is clean, bright, and spacious. From the 17th floor there is a great view of Almaty, it's a pity not to capture it.

We were very pleasantly impressed by all the embassy staff. A very friendly man greets us at the entrance, wishes everyone success and smiles amiably. At the inspection, everyone is also very pleasant and cultured, everything goes quickly. It was my first time applying and there wasn't much to compare it with, but my husband had previously had visas and told me that in Moscow, the embassy on Zubovsky had a disgusting attitude literally from the very entrance, so mentally I was preparing for a completely different attitude) At the interview, we were asked several questions and informed that our visas had been approved, and we were interviewed by a young man in the 5th window) In general, I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff for their kindness, smiles and good attitude, and to wish good luck to all those who are about to be interviewed!

Everything is organized perfectly! We were interviewed for a tour visa on 02/3.25 . A family of 5 people. We arrived early, at 7.45. The guards downstairs offered to wait not outside, but inside, so as not to freeze. Everything was explained as politely as possible. Then they invited me upstairs. The guard also escorted me upstairs. The consulate itself is also well organized. There's a queue, but it's moving fast. I didn't have to wait very long. We went by number to the consul 's booth . The consul was very friendly, asked us a few questions, and then approved the visa for everyone. The passports were received the next day. Now we are planning our trip to the USA.

The process itself is perfectly organized. Special thanks to the guards and the girls who politely and sympathetically navigate the process. On the downside, there are always a lot of people at the entrance (not inside)., and it's important! this is not a queue, it's just a crowd, if you come exactly to your time, approach and tell the guard at the entrance that your time is now, otherwise others who are bolder and later by appointment will pass earlier, and you will be late, which is a minus when submitting. The waiting room is stuffy, with poor ventilation, keep this in mind if you are going with elderly relatives (there were some who felt sick) According to the process itself, 1-2 windows take away passports for verification, and issue a number for an interview with consuls in closed windows (like the cash registers of the Russian Post for the delivery of parcels visually). I was not given a tour visa, and I was given only to young people from well-off families (business owners) and pensioners for the purpose of traveling to a specific conference. If you are an independent traveler, or you came alone to apply for a visa (with all your old passports, documents, bills, certificates, real estate, a good stable job, mortgages, animals, and others - a whole folder of documents), a balding man has 10% chances in 3 windows and in general in Almaty. The opinion is subjective. The whole process is polite, not aggressive. you stay inside for 30-40 minutes at most, everything is very fast

Excellent staff, very cultured, empathetic, warm attitude! The waiting room is large and not stuffy at all, there is a place to sit, - I was going to write like that, even if they don't give me a visa, - because it's a shame for the people, they are really very nice! They gave me a visa, and by the way, the guy in the 3rd window is pleasant, polite, and cultured. Good luck to all!

The organization of the Embassy's work at the highest level. Everything is clear. Yes, you have to wait a bit for the queue to enter, but this is not critical. The security staff at the entrance are a bit boorish, as well as a not very welcoming employee checking passports, but this is not a big minus. The officer who conducted the interview was a very polite, well-mannered and intelligent person who spoke Russian well enough, asked questions clearly and to the point. I wasn't nervous when I couldn't make typos of my fingers the first time. A clear process and organization for obtaining a passport the next day.

Everyone is very friendly, they will explain everything and help. It is often people's fault that they were denied a visa. There is no need for an officer to refuse a visa if everything is fine.

I'm writing a review because I read a lot of negative reviews myself in the evening before serving. They gave me a visa. Don't read the negative, hundreds of people pass through the embassy every day, and there are dozens of negative reviews. I got the visa in the same 4th window.

Hello, 28.08.2023 I was interviewed for a B1/B2 tourism visa. I am a citizen of the Russian Federation. The questionnaire was filled out through the agency through which it was issued earlier in 2017. The consul asked where she came from - she answered from Moscow- refusal. While waiting at the elevator, the group, which was accompanied to the exit by an employee, asked people - everyone who answered from Moscow - refused. who is from other cities of Russia - the visa is approved. Everyone has different cases. For example, I had a visa before and I returned from the USA 2 times, I was there no more than 21 days. There have also been trips to other countries over the past 5 years. There is a sister in America. Those who were in line with me and were refused, also previously had US visas and travel to other countries. On the face of the lack of emigration desire) Maybe my experience will be useful to someone. Thank you.

One says one thing, the other says another, and in the printouts that are handed out, another is written again. It took more than 3 hours to complete the interview. It was indicated to arrive at 8:00, and there were already 20 people sitting there - the specified time is of a recommendatory nature.

It's a very unpleasant place. From the very beginning, people are lining up on the street. It doesn't matter if it's cold or hot. By 8:00 a.m., for some reason, two uniformed policemen ran up and began recording everyone who was standing in line, all passport data. It was very strange and suspicious, who were they, what were they for? I didn't think of asking them to show their documents right away. Next, at each level, employees begin to come up with their own rules. Everyone wants to feel like a boss. At the door, a female security officer came up with the idea that the ambassador would not accept without a printout (where your photo and data are)! What an idiocy, but in fact it only requires a track code and the time of your recording. That is, only what is indicated on the site, you do not need to invent something that is not there. That's how he wants to weed out half of the people. Next, going up, the guy who just gives out a ticket with a queue starts checking if you have everything, and asks where all the documents are, implying a printout with a photo, demands as if he were the personal secretary of the Consul General, and he just stands instead of the device, but imagines himself. It seems to me that the woman below and this guy are related. Then another woman, in the window where she was checking the photo, said that the photo was not suitable, well, it couldn't be unsuitable!!! Well, no way!!! Because when filling out the questionnaire, the photo is checked by a robot! There are few places in the room itself, everyone is herded into a corner, it is very crowded and stuffy, there are few seats, there is no place to hang jackets. And you can't approach the consul with a jacket! The girl consultant suggests that everyone should put their jackets on the windowsill, they don't even fit there.

The recording is not valid, it is necessary to go through on a first-come, first-served basis when called. Where there is a live queue, there is a very small entrance hall 3 * 3 meters, where there is a crowd. It takes a total of 3 hours for the whole process.

I applied for a tourist. a visa for the whole family of 4 people was refused in Astana in 2024, it was submitted in Almaty only with my son on 09/03/2025. refusal. I describe how 7 people out of 30 people were given visas, (I'll emphasize one girl, the girl was approved of the visa after the consul's words - a man with glasses that you are very beautiful was approved) if the consul did not like you personally, the other 23 people were refused, where are your statistics only 50% of refusals and 50% of approvals? There's a 75% failure rate. That I was watching. : a common case is if you are alone , or alone , with your family, everyone is rejected. it doesn't matter where you've been, what kind of job you have, coaches, bloggers, businessmen, etc. are denied, no documents are looked at, no matter how many millions you have in your account, how many apartments and cars, and what a successful business you have! and what countries have you been to, if you are worried, and you almost answered the question correctly, you were refused, I was asked two questions, 1 purpose, 2 where I work, and a refusal (about myself, I am a private entrepreneur, everything is there), I believe that you should not try to apply for a US visa and pay them a 20p consular fee it is better to go to another country, China, Japan, Canada, let America bend in its LGBT and mom1, dad2, the middle sex, homeless people on the streets and Coca-Cola, an ordinary tourist is not allowed to go, judging by the current situation, they think they are exceptional. What does my son think of America now? - studying English at school after 2 visa refusals, he also does not like and does not want to go to America, from now on I do not like this America and these biased consuls, they made an interview for tourism, entrance exams, this is not an interview, but real exams and humiliation, as if they were going to permanent residence, where is your Democracy , freedom ? I'm returning it to the consul in the 3rd window, to the man with glasses, here's your Yankee paper back.

Please tell me, is the U.S. Embassy in Alma Ata far from the airport? I'm worried that I won't make it to the registration. The interview at the embassy is scheduled for 8.45 am, and the departure from the airport is at 18 o'clock.
