A good place for a relaxing visit. It will be very hot in summer. There is almost nowhere to hide. Spring and autumn are generally excellent. A combination of nature and antiquity.

The royal tombs are part of the archaeological park of Kato Paphos, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. There are 8 tombs on the territory of the archaeological park. Some of them are basements with a descent down, some are hills with depressions inside. The most interesting to explore are the funerary complexes with an underground courtyard decorated with columns.

An interesting place. You can even take a walk here if it's not hot. Of course, there is not much to see - the same type of buildings. The tombs were built like real houses. Even the hearths were burning. Of course, it is unrealistically difficult to scrape this out in the rock without special tools, even now. The traces of the tools are clearly visible on the walls. There's something we don't know about ancient civilizations. They had something that they don't have now - an effective and powerful tool and stone processing technology.

The breath of time and eternity in such an unusual place. It's really worth coming here, especially since Cyprus is tiny - it won't be long from anywhere. Ancient, 2,300 plus years ago, built, if not for kings, but for the rich people of that time. The huge work carried out then, thousands of years ago, has reached our days, despite the efforts of ancient stonecutters, tomb robbers and homeless people who lived there in large numbers a thousand years ago.

The Royal Tombs is a large necropolis with a total area of 200 thousand square meters, located in Cyprus, 2 kilometers northwest of Paphos harbor. The royal tombs are part of the archaeological park of Kato Paphos, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The tombs got their name from their splendor and decoration, and not at all from the burial of kings or their families there. The underground tombs, many of which date back to the 4th century BC, were carved out of rock, and researchers believe they were the burial place of the aristocracy until the 3rd century AD.

When we were told at the hotel when renting bicycles that it was better to go to Coral Bay along the Cemetery of Kings road, I wondered which Cypriot kings we were talking about. Then I realized that we would drive past Tombs of the Kings, where we had already taken an excursion. Yes, there are "huge distances" in the necropolis (as Griboyedov's Rock-tooth would say): to see the remains of the graves of the local nobility (which, however, is not related to the kings), you will have to sweat a lot, bypassing excavations, ruins, caves in the heat and looking into the "pillared halls" of the tombs. But these are the rules of the game: not all the same in the pool and the sea to splash, it is necessary to join the local history. It is always interesting, informative and useful for general development. You just need to prepare accordingly (not forgetting water, a hat and comfortable shoes) and tune in to an inquisitive positive

There are many beautiful objects. At first it seemed that there was nothing interesting, but after walking a little longer, we met a lot of pretty corners. We spent more time here than we planned. It was interesting to touch the story.

If you want to see something monumental and perfectly preserved necropolis, then you are not here. But if you like self-guided tours, ancient ruins, "lost" caves and other antiquities, then you definitely need to visit here. Just stock up on water, comfortable shoes and sun protection, because the park area is large, there is practically no shade, as there are no benches for recreation.
