A landmark place in Chisinau
The Victory Arch is a triumphal arch.
It was built in 1846 under the direction of architect I. Zaushkevich to accommodate a bell weighing 6.4 tons, cast from captured Turkish cannons. The arch was erected in honor of the victory in the Russian-Turkish War (1828-1829). It was restored in 1973.

Architectural structure "Victory Arch"
It is a 13-meter square-shaped structure divided into two levels. The lower level is through with four pylons on pedestals with Corinthian columns, a developed frieze. The upper tier is attic, finished with a cornice and treated with blades, the clock is placed on this level from the side of the square. In the lower tier, on the inner sides of the pylons, marble slabs were mounted between the columns
