Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Khotlyany, Uzdensky district. Russian Russian architect Konstantin Ton's unique five-domed temple-monument of wooden architecture was built at the end of the 19th century (1879) at the expense of local residents according to a typical project of the famous Russian architect Konstantin Ton in retrospective Russian style. The most famous buildings designed by K. Ton are the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Grand Kremlin Palace, and the Armory in Moscow. The Khotlian Church was the only creation of a remarkable architect that has survived in Belarus to our time. On the night of January 6, 2013, the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin burned down in the agro-town of Khotlany. The fire was reported at half past three in the morning by a local resident who saw the glow. The first unit of rescue firefighters arrived at the place of the call after 3 minutes. The late detection and rapid spread of fire through the wooden voids contributed to the development of the fire. According to eyewitnesses, the church caught fire like gunpowder. Even the nearby pines were burned. It took more than 3 hours to completely eliminate the fire. For 4 years, the church has been restored by both local clergy and parishioners, as well as sponsors. Old drawings also helped to recreate the ancient temple.
