Level 12 Local Expert

A very atmospheric place in the very center: ancient halls with vaults and wood, the feeling of a “real” Prague tavern, where it's nice to go after a walk. The establishment has a long history — the place dates back to 1466, and you can feel it from the mood inside. The food is classic Czech cuisine: satisfying, clear and delicious, the portions are normal. A separate plus is our own microbrewery (interesting even just as part of the story and concept, not necessarily “about drinks"). Yes, the place is popular and can be lively, but that's exactly why it's loved.

Colorful with oak tables, a purely Prague restaurant. You don't have time to sit down, as the order is already accepted and after a minute, two mugs, sliding on the table, slide right under your right hand, and the waiter draws two short lines. Everything is done promptly, professionally and with love. Beer is just great. Well, when the lines become 6-8, you realize that you already want to take a walk, pay, bow and go ahead to the Charles Bridge, make a wish. Beauty!

I don't know why he was so bullied, but neither the dishes nor the attitude of the staff were disgusting. the dishes are tasteless, the waiters scream if you politely call them or ask for the bill. only the beer is normal, as in the whole of Prague itself. We were highly recommended, even before arriving in Prague, to visit this particular restaurant. When we arrived, we came here right away. We ordered a boar's knee. They cook for 2 or 4 people. We barely ate a small portion for two. Very tasty. Brutal Russian-speaking staff. Everyone is polite. I highly recommend it!!!

The beer is really good, and its own production (X-33, etc.) can be tasted only on the second floor. But the food is just terrible, the kitchen is slightly worse than the Soviet canteen. The ordered steak could not be cut with a knife, the meat was all sinewy and resembled a sole. The discussion was also not up to par, the waiters had to wait. The place is highly promoted specifically for Russian tourists, who make up the bulk of visitors. There are few Czechs there. There are many great pubs in Prague that are head and shoulders above this establishment, so don't get fooled by the ads if you don't want to ruin your evening.
