Uchagiz Castle is not just ancient walls, but an observation deck in the "eyes don't believe it, but the camera has already figured it out." The views from the heights here are such that it seems like someone is printing new postcards right on the spot to keep up with the beauty. The sea below plays with shades of blue, as if it has a personal sponsor - a watercolor producer. Most tourists get here by boat, but we went by car. And, I must say, the road led us almost to the very foot of the mountain - almost like in a computer game where the level starts right at the boss. Along the way, we were stopped three times (!) by smiling locals and offered a "very profitable" boat tour. If you are planning a boat trip, this may be your chance. We were determined to explore the castle and storm the top. It took less than 10 minutes to climb the mountain, and now you're looking at the world through the eyes of a seagull, but without the need to be able to fly. The place is one of the best in this region: history meets nature, and your smartphone fills up your memory faster than you can admire it. I absolutely recommend you to visit. Just get ready: your heart will want to stay, even if your feet are already halfway to the car.

Tourists often visit this fortress as part of Kekova excursions, which also include exploring the sunken town of Dolihiste and swimming in the bays. Historical atmosphere – the castle has an ancient history (presumably the Byzantine or Lycian period). Panoramic views – the fortress offers stunning views of the sea and islands. Quiet and authentic area – fewer tourists than in Demre or Kasha. – the castle remains mostly in ruins, with few information signs.– you can only get there by boat or on foot along the mountain trails. If you love history and picturesque places, yes, but don't expect impressive structures like in the fortresses of Alanya or Bodrum. This place is more for lovers of solitude and nature. It is better to combine a visit to the castle with a boat tour of Kekova.

An unforgettable and easy trip with children. We arrived at the fortress by car from the opposite side, reached the top of the fortress in 30 minutes, enjoyed the wonderful view, went down to the sea, had lunch at a cafe, and then rented a boat that took us to the main attractions and returned to the car.
