Hello, we had a rest with Vash Rest LLC from January 3 to January 7 in Belarus. The tour was called "Big Christmas circumnavigation, 5 days". I want to share my personal impressions of the tour. We traveled together with my husband. On January 3, we were met from the train in Minsk (only we arrived on this train), accommodated at the Victoria SPA 4* hotel, and provided with detailed information. Our group of 38 people was at number 26. After a hearty breakfast (the breakfasts were excellent in all the hotels where we were accommodated), we went on a sightseeing tour of Minsk. The tour began with a concert with a good selection of musical numbers, and then, under the guidance of a guide, we admired Minsk and its sights on foot or by bus. I can't say anything bad about getting information about the guide, but... she was extremely inconsiderate to us, if not rude. Her headset wasn't working well, and when a man from our group said he couldn't hear, he was told to stand closer and everything would be heard. At lunch, she did not meet my husband and me halfway when we were placed at the tables in the restaurant. As a result, we were having lunch with people we didn't know yet, and we were very uncomfortable. The tour ended at 4:30 p.m., and we wanted to return to the hotel because we were cold and wanted to use the sauna and hammam facilities at the SPA. We were very surprised when it turned out that in addition to the hotel guests, the hotel allows everyone to use the sauna and pool. As a result, we queued up at the sauna and hammam to go in and warm up, the pool was also full, and we couldn't use the Jacuzzi. For me, this is a strange practice, because the service, as far as I understand, is included in the room rate. I give the hotel a big minus for this. The next day, January 4th, we visited the castles of Nesvizh and Mira and from there we left for Brest. To our delight, we had a new tour guide, Evgenia (Zhenya), on this trip. I want to say right away that we were very lucky, and Evgenia, who was smart, attentive, and ready to answer any of our questions, won us over. With subtle humor, she told us not only about the places we visited or passed through, but literally about everything that was interesting to us (cuisine, language, education, culture, religion, etc.). Many thanks to her for this (5*). By the way, at all the dinners she was the first to enter the restaurant and seat us at the tables, unlike the Minsk guide, she understood that people who came together and at the table should be together. A lot depends on the guide, and Zhenya pulled this tour on herself without exaggeration. We arrived in Brest late, at 8 p.m., and checked into the Hampton by Hilton 3* hotel. I don't know if the star rating of the hotel extends to the restaurant, but the kitchen was clearly not ready to accommodate the guests. Because we didn't want to look for a place to eat in the hotel area (tired and hungry), we (and not only we) went down to the hotel restaurant. We waited 1.5 hours for our order, and we didn't order anything supernatural, we wanted to eat and go to rest. When I asked her to explain the delay, to call the receptionist or the chef, the waitress just smiled nervously and repeated that there was no one there and everything was about to be ready. This is a huge disadvantage for both the hotel and the restaurant of this hotel. In Brest, we had a sightseeing tour of the city and a visit to the Brest Fortress, and on January 6 we left for Belovezhskaya Pushcha and from there to Grodno. In Belovezhskaya Pushcha, we visited the residence of Dmitry Moroz. Of course, we are not children, but D. Moroz and the rest of the mummers made us laugh. Those who visited Veliky Ustyug from our group said that they liked the residence of the Belarusian Dmitry Moroz more. Of course, it is better to explore natural attractions in the warmer months, but in winter Belovezhskaya Pushcha impressed us, the aviaries with animals were half empty, but we managed to feed the bison with apples. In Grodno, we also had a sightseeing tour of the city and, before leaving for Minsk, an organ concert at the Lutheran Church. It was terrible (that's my personal opinion). We enjoyed listening to a couple of Bach's works, which were written for the organ. Then modern works were performed (Hallelujah from Shrek, melodies to the movie from Harry Potter, and the work from the movie Mission Impossible was completely killed). In these numbers, a trombone joined the organ, its sounds hurt my ears, I wanted to get up and leave. In Grodno, we chose the Semashko 3* hotel, which, in my opinion, was tired, and the room was not very clean. The room was on the ground floor and there was a loud rumble all night. We weren't the only ones complaining this morning. We also checked in late, the sauna was open until 22:00 and, having learned from bitter experience, we preferred to have dinner in the city and did not have time to go to the sauna. It's a pity, it would be very pleasant to warm up after a frosty day. The last thing I would like to mention is the organization of dinners. We had lunch 5 times and not just anywhere, but in restaurants. The dinners were at different times from 12:30 to 14:30. I got the impression that the restaurants were saving as much as they could on these dinners. In fact, they were just set meals, sometimes salad, first, second and compote (tea), and something for tea. We left the Minsk restaurant feeling slightly hungry. Of the 5 dinners, 4 had rice on the side, and I got the impression that I was not in Belarus, but in China. And cabbage is everywhere, there probably wasn't anything cheaper. And the cooler the restaurant was, the worse the food was. But there was an exception – lunch in Brest at the usual Vesta hotel. Olivier salad, mushroom soup with cream, baked potatoes with chicken fillet, compote and tartlet with cottage cheese and cherries. In addition, tea was offered to everyone. The whole group was pleased. In the end, I would like to express my gratitude to Vash Rest LLC for organizing the tour. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Belarus, and I think we will return here, but on our own.
